"Breed standards". Gods save me. Remember that old term "Notorious and abominable Crime against Nature"? It exists. But it's not sodomy. It's AKC. If you look at photos of German Shepherds or Bulldogs or Basset Hounds or Spaniels from 100+ years ago they look like real dogs. Now they're inbred monstrosities.

For some dogs tail docking makes sense. Dobes have very thin-skinned, un-meaty tails which are prone to injury and infection. I don't like it but can understand it for them.
