CA emissions regs are drafted by CARB. Unelected & unaccountable to the populace they “serve”.

You are probably correct. Didn't think of it that way
Yep excellent points.
Seriously....build an app > enter VIN > app gets mileage info from dealer service records = buyback or fix $ value provided to customer. Simple database operation and query.
My question exactly. I live in CA so I suspect that taking VW’s money and leaving the car the fuck alone (which is what I’d prefer to do because I like it fine the way it is) won’t be an option. My guess is that CA will require a fix for subsequent registrations.
The graphic designer suffers from being unoriginal. The show will obviously suck.
Honestly....I don’t much care about how they compare to an arbitrary regulatory limit. My question is whether or not there is a statisticaly relevent difference in emissions in “on road”/”real world” testing vs other similar engines in terms of size and bhp output.
My question is not related to the regulation but to other “comparable” engines on the road from a similar model year range.
I have two Bullmastiffs who LOVE doing the exact same thing......the volume of drool on the backseat arm rests is staggering.
The owner who posted the video thinks its a Bullmastiff. You should call and straighten him out.
You know what I’ve not seen? A detailed comparison of exactly how much emissions these things put out compared to other comperable engines. Or expressed in terms of “x” amount of emissions per liter of fuel or per liter of displacement compared to other engines. The info may in fact be out there.....just sayin that I…
Totally agree. I walk my dogs at night and at least once a week I see someone cruising down the road with their lights off. while their face is visible inside the car illuminated by their cell phone on which they are watching cat videos on youtube...because texting is illegal.
I’m with you Keith.....and I’d buy another one. Sadly, that’s looking like it likely won’t be an option.
Last I heard they didn’t write the rules.
Exactly my thought.
The cell capacity is greater than any possible max allowed capacity they’ll encounter.
Do they (all the teams getting changes) have an opportunity to test/verify the efficacy of the changes?
When he’s not shouting he’s not awful...problem is he’s usually shouting.
Regardless of the roads, that’s just sound advice.
