Worth moving from an Mk6 GTI to the new Mk7?

Absolutely this. Also, good fucking luck finding a Mini Cooper S on a lot priced at less than thirty grand.

No kidding! I wish there were more shots of that ‘Murrica-Tastic Vette!

So, did I just start noticing the font size changing in this article, or is that a new thing?

Holy shit this sentence is a fucking trainwreck.

“Wagnerian, Lillipution, stentorian, vociferously.” Somebody’s been at the thesaurus. This is one flowery-ass car review.

Well, does it or does it not? Aren’t they the ones who get to decide that? I’ll believe it when I see it. Also, good luck finding a base model on the lot.

So the bestbuy student discount isn’t working. You can either get the $150 off regular price, or you get the student $150 off. They don’t add.

Yup, this was a ‘99 and the fact that it was a base model helped too. Manual trans, casette player and hand-crank windows. The standard “SL” model doesn’t show up in most mechanic’s databases because so few of them were bought- most people at least got the CD player in the SL-1.

Nah.

This is a long time ago but I believe it was the 8-valve. Never found out what happened to the dash- I’m not an electrical guy, so I just ran without it.

It’s one of the rare 4WD models- you should jump on it!

Mostly, but not always. When the cracked intake manifold was replaced (warranty expired but covered by TSB), they discovered injector problems that required non-warranty work. Still, the car spent as much time in the shop as out in the first two years of its life. Also the sunroof occasionally fucks itself and has
