Craziness. I'd almost certainly buy it for $100, probably even at $150. Good looking, appears to be well made, and weather resistant.

I added a red arrow to point out a human being. There's a bunch there around the arrow, besides the one it points to.

"The best lightweight portable headphones for $100"

I've heard of neighbors calling the cops in for "drug making" on homebrewers. Usually bringing the cops in and showing them around, or offering to share some beer with the neighbors does a great job of building bridges. Beer brings people together!

Great suggestion on pots, I never thought of that with all the amazing ethnic markets around my house. Most kits come with an extract kit designed for partial boils though, so if you've got a decent sized stock pot, you should be able to get through your first brew no problem.

Major props to HBT. Got my start there like many others.

Ha! 600 bucks? After brewing for two and a half years I'm opening a real packaging brewery with tasting room. I'm in this thing tens of thousands of my own money now, and I'm just a poor kid working a desk job in the field I got my BS in. I know what you mean about addicting, but somebody should have warned me

Meh, a long primary is really all you need. You can even cold-crash in your primary, and dry hop if you like. Nothing special happens in secondary, yeast floc out the same in both. A 3-4 week primary for medium-high gravity beers is plenty to get a rock solid yeast cake and not worry too much about stirring things

I started with better bottles but have moved to buckets, actually. I love the look of the carboy, but am way too clumsy to ever deal with glass. They're great products, but I prefer to dry-hop in primary for 99% of my beers, unless I need fermentor space. You just can't toss 4 ounces of leaf hops into a carboy and

Not unlucky- drunk.

Well, it was in a sort of weird overlap time, but THIS (read: Helio Ocean) was what I had when the iPhone came out. Gizmodo at the time was generally more excited about the Ocean than the iPhone. Weird.

Wow, I have not even heard of this. Awesome.

Oh, man, chiropractors. There aren't enough faces or palms. I can't believe how many people do this stuff. I don't think a gizmodo expose is going to be enough.

Although I agree with the sentiment for this particular application, I shouldn't have to explain what's wrong with this portion of your post: "laws should be written so that only people intentionally breaking the law would be guilty."

Damn! I thought for sure I was early enough to get this one in. You have my vote, sir!

More space. The bedroom/bathroom/office-for-two started out cramped even with a queen bed, low-profile desk, LCD monitors, non-reclining chairs and nice cable management. If it gets cluttered (as bedrooms and offices tend to do) it's unworkable. You can only do so much with two working people and two cats in 580

Well played sir. Well played.

Exactly! Everyone's read that book! This tip is totally useless!

Overloaded on only two y'alls? It's even punctuated correctly!

I've been itching to do a sage or lavender pale ale, but I haven't managed to fit it into a weekend. Some other beer usually takes precedence, especially because my chocolate stout is usually competing in the spice/herb/vegetable category, so I'd have to leave it out if I wanted to enter the herbed pale.
