Actually, giving Chris a witch-doctor outfit probably would have made it "okay", because at that point, it's showing that the outfit was added to suit the environment, not her "heritage". Which, in fairness, Resident Evil has always been known for adding increasingly goofy costume (such as Ashley wearing a full set of

Well, like I've always said; the most offensive part of RE5, to me, is that the final boss fight involved punching a goddamn boulder. That's offensive to practically every intelligent line of reasoning, to me :P

Hmm, very true. I suppose I'm just so used to RE games being filled with unrealistically beautiful people, I hadn't really considered just how light her skin is. In fairness, though, Chris is also super dark — more so than most guys, anyways.

That definitely seems more reasonable. I'll admit, being a redhead, I actually can sympathize with that feeling of "under-representation" quite a lot. I mean, aside from Crono in Chrono Trigger, the few males with red-hair that do exist are either A) depicted in a negative light, or B) have some super unnatural shade

Excellent article!

Honestly, *MAYBE* inFamous 2. It's weird, because I really didn't like what they did with the story, and the morality system felt much more stereotypically-shallow than the first, but for some reason, I just really had a difficult time putting it down. Even after beating it twice, it was just a ton of fun to roam

ERMAHGERD!!!

Exactly. Licensed-games typically have a bad rap because they try to base games on movies that simply weren't designed with the medium in mind. Let the game-designers make a Star Wars *game*, and let Abrams make us a movie. Play to their strengths; don't hamstring one to copy the other.

Disney or LucasFilm execs, if you're reading this — PLEASE let this game continue unhindered!

No, it's instinct. Very much something you see in most species of animal (though certainly not all). Of course, in saying that, it's clearly a bit more complicated in that (females certainly aren't treated as "equals" in the animal kingdom), but the urge to protect the female is most certainly present in most species.

Well said, I think that has a lot to do with it. It could also be male-instinct, though, to protect females. They definitely built a much more relateable character in this game, and seeing a realistic woman dying in such a realistic way might be triggering that built-in instinct to protect.

Yeah, it's a rough area to tread. On the one hand, I applaud the devs for making death-scenes that are genuinely awful to see, that don't attempt to "glorify" death or anything. On the other hand, yeah, it's definitely a bit much, and as someone with a pretty weak stomach to realistic violence, definitely makes me a

It's more that New Dante is just completely obnoxious in practically every way. I liked the original well enough, but I totally agree that his design was dated and in need of rebooting (particularly after DMC3 and 4 made him into a complete goofball), but the new game just tries so hard to prove itself as being "dark"

Wow, that opening cutscene was just atrociously animated. I'm all for cutting costs by taking the graphic-novel approach, but seriously, step your game up; Sucker Punch did the same thing with inFamous, but those looked amazing.

I'm curious, why don't they just release Pokemon over Wi-Fi events and whatnot? Seems like a pretty big "Fuck You" to players who aren't able to go to these stores on a whim.

Marth doesn't hide his name. In fact, not only was his name revealed officially through promotions, he tells you that's his name right at the beginning of the game. Even the demo divulges it.

Well said.

Quite frankly, this has been common knowledge for some time. Blizzard made no secret that it was looking to make Diablo III a console-game, it's only surprised that they chose not to release it on existing systems.

AGHRGAHRAGHJRAKIRB!!!!!!

I gotta say, I'm intrigued. The first "season" wasn't the greatest thing I've ever watched, but it was pretty damn good. I'm eager to see what happens this time around. I'll admit, I thought the first few episodes were the best, when they went for a more realistic, "Nolan-ized" vibe, as it sat better than the
