Man, I love Sunshine, too! I would personally have preferred such a game to star Yoshi, though, considering he fits the "tropical" setting more, I think.
Worked fine to me. You might want to call it out at the beginning of the article, though; Kotaku is the only site I know that uses that type of slider, so many people probably wouldn't noticed, and assume it a "comparison-screenshot".
Spending money on tests that have already been conducted for many, many years. Awesome. I also find it amusing that so many people to believe that somehow, a government-funded research project will be "less biased" somehow.
I totally agree with everything, but I *REALLY* agree with the first!!! The strange lighting and bloom just make the game look far more dated (ironic, no?). The reason the game has held up so well to begin with is because it has such a clean, stylish look. I would *LOVE* to have the option to shift between visuals,…
Touche'.
I really, really hope Vigil gets picked up. They have a golden IP that I think was just poorly managed. I think people called it right before; Bethesda would be a great fit. And, even though I'm not their biggest fan by ANY stretch of the imagination, I think Activision might also make a good home for the series.
Agreed, it's a shame that it hasn't seen a bid yet. I'm genuinely surprised; it's clearly an IP that has value, but it was managed poorly. I know a lot of people have suggested Bethesda, which I would agree with, but I also think EA, Activision, Blizzard, or Capcom would make good homes.
Hmm... not quite sure how I feel about the "Yarn" aesthetic being repeated for Yoshi, but I can safely say that I'm excited by this. I personally would have gone a direction similar to Super Mario Sunshine, with more of a "tropical" flair, and maybe even a little Banjo-Kazooie style of obtaining new "powers" as the…
I'm excited and all, but... is it just me, or does the lighting seem *REALLY* strange? I don't think I like Toon-Link looks like a physical object, and the colors seems really off. Too much blooming, instead of the cleaner cel-shaded look.
I completely agree, I prefer more tension to less. I also really don't like the "squishy" L2 and R2 buttons on the PS3 controllers. Personally, I think pressure-sensitive buttons are a complete waste of time anyways, but theirs are particularly bad.
It's definitely fucked-up, there's no two-ways about it.
I totally agree; that shit would be OFF THE CHAIN!!!
Interestingly enough, the original Gohan (who raised Goku) was never seen later in the series, nor was Raditz. Strange, that.
Hmm, fair point. Still, I think the community really went too far in hating the guy; they constantly belittle him on the official forums, and some really nasty comments about his personal appearance and just generally griefing him.
"Mine" isn't an idiot, and I suspect he only made the comment (on facebook, so obviously intended to be private) because D2's director made some slightly snide comments about D3 not being as good a game.
Honestly, I think an Expansion would solve many of the issues. Not all of them, but many.
I genuinely feel bad for this guy. This is one of the few times that I would say an entire community was shitty, and the entire Diablo community was shitty to him, specifically. Diablo III wasn't as good as D2: LoD, in my opinion, but it was still a damned solid game, and it had flashes of brilliance. It had some…
Honestly, this wouldn't be such an issue if Nintendo would just goddamn start backing their eShop and Virtual Console! The eShop, even on 3DS, is abysmal, and the Virtual Console support should've been handled by now. And GameCube titles should have been available on eShop from freaking Day-1.
Jesus, that Majora's Mask controller is the coolest-looking thing I've ever seen! And the rest of the designs are amazing, ass well!
