There's actually a lot of speculation that the original cast might still be unlockable as some point. They obviously play an important role in the Story, so if anything, they would probably be unlockable after beating the game or via DLC.

I'm totally with you (although Salvadore does deserve some credit, I think).
Also, am I the only one that really dislikes "matte" finishes? They always wind up fading, chipping away, or just having an overall "nasty" sort of feeling. I much prefer the feel of hard plastic, glossy or textured (preferably the latter).
I have to admit, those face-buttons are pretty badass. If I had the money, I would actually be really interested to see what these guys could do as far as a "Military-equipment-themed" controller.
Anyone else hoping they'll remake Red and Blue again? Not using the same old sprites, though; I want some 3D-models, dammit!
Honestly, this is one of the few moments in a video-game that's really made me think "This game would actually be genuinely better if it had better graphics".
DLC, when done right, is *EXACTLY* what I love; Expansion-Packs for the games I love, that don't require me to go out and socialize with the living in order to purchase.
Hmm, looks really interesting. Guess I'll have to order it! :P
I was just thinking about something like this the other day. Not quite the same, mind you; I still love the thought of Swords and Magic. Rather, I'd like to see them "urbanized", like you kind of mention.
I just hope it comes with a headset (or *REALLY* good built-in mic), and it doesn't force me to use the camera. Being self-conscious anyways, I would hate having to worry how I look when I playing games :P
Hmm, how does some pictures have him with a cigar, and the others not? I don't see anywhere you could swap out the head or anything.
DZ: Discovery Zone was so much better tham Chuck E. Cheese.
I dunno, Ruby and Emerald Weapons are still pretty beastly as I recall.
Definitely a risky move. It was mostly just boring, though; they needed more "umph" to get a chuckle out of me.
I should think Chrono Trigger should get a special mention in referencing Akira Toriyama :)
Yeah, it's really a shame they don't do *something* with him. There's definitely potential for a good character in there somewhere, but they seem too intent on making him seem "calm" and "wise" all the time, it doesn't give him the opportunity to feel very compelling.
It seems like a pretty good comparison to me, actually. Both are decent characters in their own right, but they're just totally outshined by the supporting cast.
Anyone else think Gordron Freeman looks a little too... "pretty" there? He just looks like a different person, quite a lot younger at that. Although, perhaps it's aiming for his HL1 appearance?
Conceptually, it's actually a really good idea for an ad. Execution is... less than stellar, but the idea isn't bad.
PLEASEpleasepleasepleasepleaseplease include Drizzt Do'Urden as a recruit-able character!
