Dude, from what i've been reading, you have a lot of knowledge on mechanics, so i think you'll agree that if you take some accessories away from that belt, you'll lose less crankshaft power to them, right? The screaming evidence is your car's loss of power when you crank the AC to full power on a hot day.

Just to knit pick a little bit, on most EFI cars, it's most efficient to put it in top gear and take your foot off the gas, than to put it in neutral and let it coast ;)
