Agree, agree, and AGREE. To put in perspective how weak ME1's RPG features are, play the game side to side with Fallout 3 (or New Vegas). Now THAT was a game that mixed complex RPG mechanics and shooter elements well without undermining each other.

Test audiences reacted badly to the original ending, so the studio changed it into a standard "heroic sacrifice" ending. Will Smith had nothing to do with that infamous decision.

I agree with Luke. I'd put Halo Reach second to Halo 1, if only because Reach feels like a more refined and evolved version of the original. Halo 1's campaign mode was the best though, and multiplayer is still pretty good, so I'd say they're tied for #1 and #2.

I agree with both. Starcraft 1 and Brood War didn't have the greatest storyline or character development, though its portrayal of war and all of its messy alliances and ever shifting goals was done pretty well. I also enjoyed reading the backstories of all three races in the manual. Unfortunately, Wings of Liberty's

I don't dislike Call of Duty as much as some gamers, but Modern Warfare 3 was unremarkable in every possible way. Single player, multiplayer, spec ops...all of it was done much better in MW2. There's almost no reason to play MW3 if you played MW2. Even the biggest fans of the series don't care for MW3. The metacritic

Not necessarily. No matter how many military FPS out on the market, there are more than enough games that don't fit that mold for you to choose from.

First of all, I didn't mean you in particular. Just the collective opinion of gamers over the years. There was a lot of anti-Halo rhetoric during the mid/late-2000s, because its influence was felt pretty wide across the FPS genre. Along with that came accusations of the Halo sequels being more of the same, and the

I think I'm more peeved that Activision doesn't allow Infinity Ward and Treyarch to fix their previous games, or (as Crazy Uncle said) release expansion packs in their place. That would at least give them more longevity, because after CoD4, I got bored in the long haul with MW2 and Black Ops. They were both fun

I thought MW2 was a really good sequel hampered by a terribly imbalanced multiplayer. If Infinity Ward wasn't forced to abandon the game so soon, it would still be fun and playable, but sadly, that wasn't the case. As for Black Ops, it wasn't terrific, but at least it was different enough from MW2 to warrant its

Yeah, I'd give EA more of a thumbs down right now. Activision's done a lot of shitty stuff, but they seem to be calming down a bit this year. Also, after reading how they handled the stunt Silicon Knights (or rather Denis Dyack) tried to pull with that recent X-Men game, they've earned a bit of my respect. Just a bit.

Funny. It didn't seem that long ago when the collective hivemind of internet gamers called for the death of Halo, when people got super excited when Halo 3's records got broken by GTA4, and when CoD4 felt like the FPS game that was a huge breath of fresh air. Funny how things come full circle.

The new matchmaking system, after a few trial games, does a pretty good job pairing you up with people close to your skill level, so you don't get constantly annihilated by pros left and right. I started playing Starcraft 2 again after a long hiatus, and I was surprised how often I was winning games until realizing I

Adam, you're not alone. A quick scan of other replies in this page and the youtube comments proves that the answer wasn't extremely obvious, even to many long time gamers. Part of the problem was how poorly worded and surprisingly brief the final Jeopardy answer was written, so if you didn't put two and two together,

True, the story can be summed up in a short amount of words, but the depth provided by the extra paragraphs really tell a story for any gamer who's curious about how bad games come to fruition, or how easily a respectable gaming company can crumble from its own hubris and hype. Sure, this isn't the first time this

What zettai said. It wasn't until E3 2011 when I noticed the channel was gone, which confused me until a quick google search told me about DirecTV dropping the station months back.

First of all, coming off as a dick =/= actually being a dick. I get that personal perception and first impressions trump all, but even the biggest jerks in the world can be decent people when no one's looking. Even you used the phrase "seems like", so you're not even 100% sure. Maybe that's the quality Jessica Biel

I'm guessing you're a woman, but that comments sounds like something a jealous 20-something male would say regarding an attractive woman marrying anyone who gives off an alpha male vibe. "Pffh, look at that jerk getting the hot chicks. She'd be so much better without him."

Food for thought. In some ancient cultures, pink was considered manly because it represented how raw meat looks. Also, most people's pre-conceptions of gender normal behavior and images were formed during the mid-20th century. Even in the 20s and 30s, most people didn't give a crap if a parent made his/her son wear a

To each his own, but judging my personal intelligence on whether I liked or hated the Lost ending, or even stating your opinion as fact (get a clue? really?), is the stupidest and most conceited thing you could do. Lost's ending is still a hotly debated topic, with just as many people who support the ending as the

I dunno. Edge's review matched my opinion of the game, and several others (like EGM's "Shoe", who admitted that he didn't care for Doom and many early FPS games). Even when playing Doom in the '90s, I found the game largely repetitive and uninteresting. Co-op wasn't half-bad, I admit, but there isn't much I got out of
