It only drives the wheels in a very small set of conditions — At highway speeds in certain cases it can clutch the engine directly to the wheels as it operates more efficiently in that specific case. Otherwise, when the engine is running, it’s absolutely serving as a generator for the electric motors.

SPRINT!

I grew up in England in the 80s in small sub-2.0 litre cars. When night first saw an imported ‘86 C4 I was blown away by the sleek profile and 5.7 litre engine. That’s why about 25 years later I bought my own ‘94 that now sits on my driveway.

Funn, it’s almost like basically all people buy cars to drive, not crash, but unavoidable accidents can happen to anyone at any time.

We have a ‘14 Grand Cherokee with the forward crash warning and it is a bit sensitive, having triggered once or twice when I’m coming up behind a turning car at a distance I deem appropriate. Obviously you can’t expect it to be able to judge when the obstacle it sees will be moved out of the way.

“Make a tight merge” and “keep proper distance” don’t seem to jive.

I have a ‘94 Corvette and previously had an’04 XJ8. Both 300hp, give or take. 0-60 in 5/6 seconds.

I thought part of being grown up was sensible risk management?

“I’m not opposed to EVs, just don’t see them as an improvement over established tech at the current time.”

How the hell do you expect them to become an improvement over gas/diesel if they don’t sell them to fund further investments?!

I’m disappointed “Simeon Panda” isn’t a character from a kids’ TV show.

I eat at my desk so I can get home to see my wife and baby, as my down-time is far better spent with them than in the middle of the day with coworkers or alone. Diff’rent strokes.

I feel like these other offerings are worth a discussion too:

Nice price... You Plonker!

“Here, hold this grenade. I’ll keep the pin.”

Fairway Green Metallic on the early C5 Corvettes is criminally underrated:

I’d put money on the Supra appreciating way more than the Porsche, if kept in stock condition.

The wife, or the Sebring?

Like Alfa, of all brands, can afford to be without service loaners? Come on...

... Unless this is just a ploy to replace their loaners with non-Alfas so they have something running to give their owners once the new Alfa inevitably breaks down! ;)

This might be a nice idea if it weren’t a performance car. I would never buy a new car where the first 1k miles were all hard-driven full-throttle short test drives.
