This is a great, great idea. For the first part of the equation, go V12 Merc.

Also, it’s ridiculously tunable to insane power levels for really affordable prices:

Eurocharged will bring it to 557hp / 616lb-ft for just $2,199. If you want to go nuts, drop $8,299 on their stage 4 package: 682hp, 746lb-ft.

You’re looking at the previous-gen E55. This one has the supercharger: “The E55 AMG is powered by the M113 ML55 engine, a 5.4 L V8 with a Lysholm type supercharger manufactured by IHI. The E55’s engine was tuned to 476 PS (350 kW; 469 hp) and 700 N·m (520 lb·ft), the low end of the supercharged 55 range due to its

Mid-engine.

CP, CP, CP. Unreliable, unattractive, and even when it is running anemic performance.

I’d probably still vote CP if it were free.

I’d have to give serious thought and consideration to taking it off their hands if given anything less than $5k cash along with it.

Needs more gullwing doors, and side pipes.

“My goal here is to document cars that a lot of people want to know about but nobody personally wants to own”

So are you buying a W221 S65 AMG or an E60 M5 next? We should start tagging your posts as “Tavarish Reality Check.”

I had an ‘85 Celebrity Eurosport coupe. It was crap. That said, at $2k I’d pick this up for the 80’s kitsch value alone. At $3k I’d consider it. At anything more I’ll just laugh and laugh.

And, more to the point it’s an Italian exotic with a Ferrari engine. It is as close to a “real” Ferrari as someone on $50k a year could get within a reasonable amount of time (time enough to enjoy it).

I’m a Mr. Money Mustache reader and a reddit.com/r/personalfinance devotee, and I don’t think it’s terrible advice. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but people on those sorts of salaries waste $5k a year on stupid crap all the time. Saving for 8 years for something of a “dream car” is not unreasonable. He never said

I got one of these emails from the idiot dealer I bought from 3 weeks after I bought a brand new car.

I wouldn’t do business with anyone sending me one of these purely because I feel like they’re insulting my intelligence.

That’s why you buy this as an alternative to a $25k v-12 land yacht, that you can afford, and have a healthy cash reserve to keep it on the road and up-to-snuff.

I think you were on to something with the old luxury car — But only if it’s a 10 year-old DTS. You won’t see an X350 XJ8 in Butte, MT, but I’ll bet you’d see a DTS or seven.

The Drivers’ Ed teacher at my High School when I was in the program had previously had at least one stroke and was known to fall asleep in the car while kids were driving on the highway for the first time.

Why?!?! Why not just attach a trailer and have the ability to turn corners on two-lane roads?

I actually like the Lincoln TownChero... I’m not sure how I feel about liking it though. Was it a Flower car originally?

Yeah, did you see that Goldwing tow rig the other week?

A lot of people, myself included, have been railing on Lincoln for not doing something to advance their lineup. I think most people assumed they’d just copy Cadillac. This is an advancement that isn’t in the realm of Cadillac — They’re obviously not going after BMW. It is a real modern interpretation of the American
