Along with reliability concerns, there is a particular feel of a japanese sports car that the aupra did so well. In all likleyhood, this car will drive and sound just like every other bmw slorts sedan which is a bit of a shame.

Removable hardtop makes sense. My miata is my ‘safe motorcycle' the targa top doesent deliver this feeling like a true roadster does, but i cant justify buying anotger car where the fabric roof must be replaced in 10 years. The hard top bridges that gap.
