I made a ~2.5 foot long version of that with some wire and 1/8” pneumatic tubing to spray TriFlow on the lower steering column bearing on my e36 M3 a while ago. Haven’t heard a peep out of it since.

It really isn’t noticeable. A normal bike isn’t really balanced laterally anyway. You’ve got brakes to one side, drivetrain to the other, asymmetric swingarms on a lot of bikes, etc.

It actually works pretty well. They use needle bearings on machined flat faces on the upper part of the stantion.
