I’m also not religious, so like the other replies, I’d say it depends. However, while in undergrad, I took a student-taught class called “Experiential Religions” where we went to a different house of worship every other week or so to observe what a religious service was like (we even went to an “atheist church”).

Right?! I mean, i guess i did watch the eclipse in an area where there would be more tourists (Bethesda terrace), but if New Yorkers didn’t care about the eclipse, why would the NYC amateur astronomy association bother setting up telescopes with solar filters that I waited like 45 minutes to look through?!

Oh wow, and he was actually born in New York too. Most of the time, the people who are trying too hard to be the “cool, unimpressed New Yorkers” are the transplants.

Babadook left too many people Babashook so they forgot to vote for him. :(

Yeah, I was watching news coverage of Miami earlier, and even though Miami isn’t taking a direct hit anymore, it still looked pretty fucking bad.

Following this because my situation is somewhat similar (except I just have a Masters) and also need advice. =/

Shingles sucks, I’m so sorry. =( I got it like a week and a half before my 26th birthday earlier this year, thanks to the combined stress of thesis deadlines and Trump beginning his fucked up presidency. I actually thought I had appendicitis at first, because the first sign I had shingles was a pain on the right side

Meetup could be an option as others have said. Also, if you want to take up a new hobby, enrolling in a class could be a good way to meet friends. While I was in grad school, I met a lot of people outside of my program by taking salsa classes. Volunteering could be a good option too; look for organizations that want

Currently job hunting, which itself is definitely affecting my mental health. =(

I like Politically Reactive, which hosted by two comedians (Hari Kondabolu and W. Kamau Bell). It’s a good mix of politics and cathartic humor, with more of an emphasis on social justice issues that are affected by politics rather than just pure politics. They have a lot of good guests on the show, so I’d recommend it.

Yeah, I have a lot of friends/acquaintances in Houston, most of whom are middle to upper middle class, and with a few exceptions, Harvey didn’t mess things up for them too much. I’m definitely grateful for that, but there are still a lot more people in Houston who weren’t so lucky, and even though everyone in Houston

If she lives in/near New York City she could sign up for Time Out New York’s The Undateables and get set up on a free blind date in exchange for having the results being published in their magazine. (Admittedly, this is probably a terrible idea unless your desire for free food/booze is higher than your sense of shame)

Not gonna lie, I once joked about how I would totally be willing to be one of those contestants who is completely forgettable/isn’t given much air time yet sticks around for an inexplicably long time before being sent home if it meant being able to travel to multiple countries.

Ew, gross, hard pass on Chase.

Who is Chase though? I asked my sister and all she said was, “he’s not a real person, lol.” Also, I didn’t start watching the franchise until this year so I’m not familiar with most of the people in the Bachelor universe.

Yeah, idk, it wasn’t that Dean wasn’t into Kristina, it’s that he wasn’t into her enough to commit to her and only her. So, Raven maybe should have said that Dean wasn’t as into her as she was into him, and that the amount that he willing to commit to her was probably not enough. Like, still the truth, but not as a

This my first time watching Bachelor in Paradise, and so far, even though I know it’s probably heavily edited, I still get mad at how much the women have to try to flatter all of those mediocre men so they don’t get sent home (and the time between the women having the power and their rose ceremony seemed short, at

Yeah, I was originally like, “Do we really need another gritty comic book reboot?” Then I started watching it last weekend, and got hooked.

I’ve been having a rough week, so I decided to bail on being social and went to my parents’ house to hang out with them instead. So far, the only thing I’ve bought this weekend besides food has been a new wallet, since I kind of destroyed my old one by putting way too many cards and coins in it.

I have a Mirena and I really like it. I still have my period, sadly, but it’s definitely lighter than it used to be. It also hasn’t affected my sex drive or caused any side effects besides the initial cramping and spotting. You can also make a 6 week follow up appointment after getting it inserted to make sure it’s
