As an avid cyclist, my condolences to the rider. Can't really make a conclusion about the party at fault. All I can hope is that it truly was a freak accident, so that neither the cyclist nor the driver gives their respective group a bad rap. And I hope the comments here stay civil and sane.

I think the best thing i've heard that I don't really see mentioned is a mindset from Alton Brown. Unitaskers are forbidden. If a tool can't be used for more than one job, it's probably not worth the precious space it takes up. There's only one tool that gets by this rule, and it's a fire extinguisher.

The funny thing is, there's nothing I was ever told or found out that makes my car a Fender GTi. It simply came in the mail a few months later. Less than 2k were given out and I bought an 07, so the car was already a year old, I certainly didn't expect to get one.
