Sigh, moving out of Japan over the summer. No more TGS for me.

@Keikomya: Jesus, where are you living in Tokyo? 1,000 yen an hour full time barely covers food, train fare and 1-2 after work beers where I'm at. I can't even imagine where you'd find rent you could afford. You'd have to be communting from outside the city or living with your parents to live off of that.

150 pounds? I mean I know most things are more expensive over in the UK but that's insane!

@valero: Really? You just put Total War in the same catagory as Halo and CoD? Um, ok.

@Huckleberry: I feel the same way. Having been playing about a month or so now the games "insane learning curve" really hasn't really been that much of a problem for me. Honestly I don't think the game is any more difficult to figure out than a strategy game like CivIV of Sins of a Solar Empire.

"the Watchmen's predecessors"

@Morberis: "No, because most people don't want to wear an extra pair of glasses to play games."

@twobeef: They get banned from WoW and get a job?

@Cygnus_Mal: Ohh yeah, Deus Ex and Thief (thx Internet). They should be making more of those games.

Not to sound trite but what properties does Eidos have that are still relevant in 2009?

@notquitedeadyet: As a gamer who has spent the past decade-plus sucking at Street Fighter, the idea of a tutorial is especially welcome.

I will never understand the obsession with the Monster Hunter series among Japanese gamers. That being said, that's a pretty cool looking controller.

@sascha23: What Japanese arcades are you going to? All the ones near me are full of chain-smoking 20-year-old guys. At least in the areas where the fighting games are.

@OoBaSNoRk: Yeah I got to play it at TGS this year (living in Japan at the moment) and completely loved it. It really is going to blow a lot of minds when it releases in the states. Sadly I don't have a Japanese 360 and about had my heart break when I saw the game for sale at a 7-11 here yesterday.

@ch3l0_91: When you said rented, I assume you meant for a console, which would be the problem. Not to sound like to much of a snob here, but Half-Life is just one of those games that plays best on a PC (preferably by yourself in a dark room during the Ravenholm section).
