Man, why didn't I see this yesterday? The Boone/IMCA Supernationals, held on a 4/10 mile dirt oval in Iowa, draws 800+ cars and lasts six days, but somehow flies under the radar in general racing circles.

IIRC, they made the concrete too thin, and it started breaking up after a few years. They didn't have the money to fix it, so it just got abandoned.
