Hey me too! I only just figured out how to force black world tendency last night by turning human, killing myself, leaving the world, repeat. I was stuck and changing the tendency allowed me to snag a good set of armor at the beginning of the game.

I just wanted to say, the International version of FFXII is much better than the original release. It adds job classes, so you're forced to make everyone a little bit different from each other.
