Those wheels are welded together to form a junkyard jack stand. It’s actually more stable then a standard jack stand in dirt and as long as the welds are halfway decent are quite safe. They’ve been used for decades.

His awesome door kick doesn’t make up for him clutching his hands to his chest and what looks like screaming like a little girl when the truck first hits the bus. I give him a 4/10 overall.

That’s not exactly a rousing defense of electric cars. Also what maintenance is there for a battery? It’s not like you can take your electric car in for a tune up. The battery either slowly gets worse over time or dies completely due to uncontrollable factors.

Funny how he wasn’t so outside their paremeters that they were perfectly willing to sell him a car.

The seat itself seems to be holding up fine, the part that’s breaking is a non structural trim piece. I don’t think there is a load bearing spec for plastic trim, much less a safety factor.

Can you imagine the outrage if they refused to sell him a car? Next Jalopnik headline “Hyundai won’t sell me a car because I’m too fat.”

If you were talking about the grab handle or something I’d agree but we’re talking about him sitting on a piece of plastic trim that’s not designed for people to sit on. If he sat on the hood would it be Hyundai’s fault that it dented?

What small trucks? The smallest truck currently available is the Frontier which is a midsize.

I think the people at Sauber are thinking, “holy shit, that was almost us.”

You’re missing the point, the way the system was setup any team that finished lower then tenth was in danger of going bankrupt. It doesn’t matter how well Manor did, if it wasn’t them going bankrupt it would have been someone else, until only ten teams were left.

Maximum charge rate depends largely on the size of the battery to prevent overheating of the cells. What your really saying is that it’s Ford’s fault that the battery is small but what do you really expect out of a plug in hybrid?

All else being equal, I would say that the 300k mile car would be more reliable then the 30k mile car. Cars that sit for long periods of time tend to have a lot of problems, unless kept in a climate controlled space. Things like brakes rusting up, water collecting in the engine/fuel tank, tires that always see the

I like your style but they can look at the chemical signature of the impurities in the gold to tell what region it was mined from. Once it’s melted down and mixed with newly mined gold they wouldn’t be able to tell where it’s from but they can tell that “it’s not from around here.” Still I think you have a solid

The biker is looking and gesturing at the person standing next to the barrier, presumably they got out of the Acura but you don’t actually see them get out of the car.

How is that an improvement over a traditional column shifter? Like This.

Just like an F1 team, two main cats and a test cat in the corner just waiting for its time in the sun.

People WANT those jobs, the problem is the US education system has wholly failed to train people for those jobs. Even entry level skilled trades positions demand a base of knowledge that just isn’t taught is most schools today.

*3a. Get distracted by a pelican.

better tech just enables us to do more with the same number of people. That hardly qualifies as “replacing people with automation”.

Are you also going to blame Toyota for not installing automatic braking in the 4 runner that rear ended them? I’m sure Toyota has a patent or two for that.
