“But then Arlo’s father is killed, and soon afterwards, Arlo himself falls into a swift river and is carried hundreds of miles away from home”.

Only the Mini is traditionally collapsible. The others are all solid-shaft and manual operation, and it shows in their rigidity. All of them have the rounded (“blunt”) canopy tensioners that work with the rest of the mechanics to keep the whole thing tight as a drum; you can literally hear the rain bounce off. If you

I too invested in a Blunt XL umbrella a few years back. I ended up buying a compact version too, which I always carry in my work bag. The XL has a shoulder sling carrier and it hangs by my door. Even if I forget the XL on a not-so-rainy day, the Mini has me covered (literally). For out and out storms, the XL is hard

It annoys me that some people use @ to mean “around”.

Dissolving salt in water is one of the best ways of keeping it frozen at subzero temperatures.

Looks spot on to me. Check out some of the many 250-class FPV racing vids on YouTube. The shots where they show from the spectators perspective look the same. In fact it’s somewhat of a downside of trying to bring it to the masses as a spectator sport. Watching a bunch of tiny angry bees zip past at breakneck speed is

Oh hey! One of the OG starred commenters is still here! (And still on form). Now where is GitEmSteveDave?

They are really fast, but the camera FOV and proximity to the ground adds to the sense of speed. Though that’s not intended to detract from the pilots. Charpu is sponsored for a reason..

Wouldn’t mind a gig like theirs. “Here’s a ton of small-batch manufacturing equipment. Make things that move in ways not previously thought of.”

Thanks, but you missed the specifics I was talking about. Yes, the legacy operations will work, but given there’s no microphone in a Harmony remote, and only a basic motion sensor, the Siri and Wii-style operations won’t be possible to replicate. I have the same problem with my LG OLED TV - it has an awesome Wii-style

I’ve seen an art installation at MoMA where the mirrors were on the inside, but on a small scale (approx 12” square sides). Inside were a mirrored sphere, cube and cone. You could see reflections in the objects of themselves, which means they could “see” themselves inside, but there was no reflection of what was

Remember, short controlled bursts

No image of the inside huh..

A government developed OS couldn’t possibly have nefarious back-doors or hidden functions...

I switched to rechargeable batteries years ago. If I buy something that comes “batteries included” I set them aside and only use those batteries in things I sell online or at yard sales. Mostly kids toys. Makes a big difference when parents drag their kids to yard sales and the kids can try the toys out. “Batteries

Sounds just like my version 1.0 approach to my decisions, tasks and to-do list items. If perfectionism or scope creep is holding back accomplishing something, I set the criteria for an acceptable v1.0 and do it. The one criteria that something MUST meet in order for me to go with v1.o is this: If I don’t ever get
