It's a compromise. But auto-open systems are a weak point. These take some effort to open but are ridgid and solid.

You missed out getting these cheap at fab.com last week. I had the regular size already, and picked up the XL for less than the regular cost me. These are so well made, and so taut, the rain sounds like it's hitting a drum skin. Only downside is they are manual. No push button open or close.

Isn't that version 4:3 letterboxed though? i.e fine on a 4:3 TV, but will have bars all round or have to be zoomed on a widescreen.

My GH1 with anything other than a pancake looks just like a DSLR to the untrained eye. Perhaps the smaller, less featured units don't so much.

Agreed. I have one pair for waterpark visits and I can never just slip them on. I have tp separate my little toes and guide them into the right slot..

Just buy an artists paint tube squeezer for $10, which you can use on any tube up to three inches wide and unlimited length. Toothpaste, lotions, paint (obviously), medicine, glue, grease..
