Otto got way more fired up about the ratcatchers being killed than he did about his own great-grandson being killed.

When that old dude was like, “Which one is Erryk,” that was all of us.

Also from Tywin regarding that opening scene: “Anyone who needs to say ‘I am the king’ is no king.”

Subtitles said it was Baela

How does that douchebag Cole continue to fail UP so consistently?

When Aegon sacked Otto and named Ser Criston hand, I was immediately reminded of Tywin’s words when Joffrey beheaded Ned Stark: “Madness. Madness and stupidity.”

Okay but again, she didn’t “out” a SA victim.

Yes, and I always figured it was some sort of normal rebellion against what I understand to have been a fundie Christian upbringing, but it turns out she just wanted the fun parts of the rebellion like sex and cleavage, and not the hard parts like questioning of a patriarchal society and rejection of rape culture.

Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake have eerily similar career arcs.

They were huge for a time, then when it seemed like they could do no wrong, all of a sudden they could do no right, to the point where entire album cycles were just one L after another. Their brands became nothing but cringe.

And now with drunk driving

Was she gossiping, or was she seeking support from a friend about how she had been assaulted by a serial rapist and who his other victims might have been?

Haha, this reminds me of Tatiana Maslany talk on a podcast about asking her mom if it was ok that she had a crush on one of the ninja turtles when she was a kid.

Lightyear is a perfectly good SF movie with a nice message about helping other members of your team to do well. It just didn’t need to have a Toy Story tie in.

Is there really “baiting” or are you shipping a relationship that is presented as platonic?

I think these were victims of having to play against a very high bar set by Pixar. They’re both good, but also firmly mid-tier for the most part. Better than forgettable sequels, but not like overwhelmingly so.

I think the actual catalyst for backlash was that some nepo babies were suggesting that being the child of famous people didn’t help them at all. Gwyneth Paltrow I think went that direction, for example.

Right?  How many would-be artists are discouraged by their parents to Not Go Into Art because there’s no money in it?  Having parents who are not only artists but actively passing on that knowledge is certainly going to help someone be the best artist they’d be capable of being.

And sometimes it takes them a few tries to find what they are good at.   Sophia Coppola comes to mind.

No, no, no, say it like Yosemite Sam! "OOOOOOOH, I HATES THEM NEPO BABIES!!!"

This is like saying on average, you, me, and Bill Gates are all billionaires because if you add all our money and divide by three that’s what you get. There are enormous, highly profitable, factory farms in the US (which might still be considered “family farms” because one family still controls them) and there are

Yeah, Jaden Smith immediately comes to mind of a sidelined nepokid, whereas Willow Smith for the most part has a lot of musical talent. Seems odd when they’re from the same family.
