I've found that the overall popularity of a name tells you NOTHING about how common said name will be in your own particular social circle. My kids are 5, 8, and 11 and out of all the kids I've encountered in the past 11 years, I don't know a single one named Mason or Madison. I don't know any kid named Logan (#17),

And before anybody gets their panties in a twist about the ethics of leaving a $1 tip: here in California, it is state law that servers make the same $8+ minimum wage as everyone else. So I feel absolutely no guilt in leaving a bad tip for bad service.

Or maybe I'm PREGNANT but don't care to share my good news with the entire world just yet. BTDT and each time it happened I left the servers a $1 tip for their rudeness.

"if coming in once a year makes you feel secure about your health or you have risk factors and concerns which require much more regular testing"

Why does everybody keep saying that Pap tests are now every 5 years? I'm super-low risk (never smoked, husband and I are each other's only sex partners ever, almost 2 decades' worth of normal tests, etc.) and I still have to get one every 3 years.

The schedule does change in one's 30's but it's not every 5 years. Plus if your gyno is like mine, she'll still insist on an annual pelvic exam.

In your 30's they are every 3 years, so unfortunately not "basically never". And my gyno still wants me in every year for a pelvic exam even if it's not a Pap year.

Chloe and Olivia peaked a while ago in my social circle. I know WAAAAY more Chloes and Olivias my 6th grader's age than my preschooler's age even though their overall popularity was higher later on. Now Maude I would say is the type of name that is super-popular right now in my circle. Adelaide, Clementine, Edith,

The Madisons are mostly still in high school or younger, so I'm guessing that they've got another decade to go.

I had an insanely small waist in my early 20's and having curvy hips made it look even smaller in comparison; however, this woman does look like she's had her lowest set of rib bones removed.

Unfortunately, rape happens everywhere there are young people who drink too much. Smart kids aren't immune from bad behavior. Colleges should absolutely do more to investigate allegations rather than covering them, but I don't think it's fair to say Harvard isn't one of the top schools in the world simply because a

I totally remember that catalog! I had a friend growing whose big sister was on Prom Committee several years in a row, and the sister always used to let us have the catalogs after they were done with them. We all used to sit around looking at those hideous late '80's over-the-top prom themes, dreaming of being in

Yep, they skew heavily towards the middle range of sizes. Hardly anything below a 6 or an 8 and while I know there is a plus section, I think it isn't that extensive.

Coldwater Creek is overpriced and their size range leaves out anyone who is petite. Just because I'm a mom does NOT mean that I've gotten fat.

Never heard this one before, but it's definitely weird-in-a-good-way like Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know" and Avicii's "Wake Me Up", both of which were monster hits.

Yeah, it's too generic to be a SoS.

Why go Greek? Because success in the corporate world is as much about whom you know as what you know. Most positions are never advertised on Monster.com and the only way to have a shot at them is to know the right person. The "good ole boys'/girls' network" is very much alive and well. I can understand why folks who

Frankly, I was glad to have an excuse to turn down DH's brother's fiancee when she recently asked me to be a bridesmaid (there's a good chance I won't be able to fly out in time for the rehearsal). She seems like a nice enough girl, but I barely know her and it's WAAAAY too much money for me to spend on somebody I've

My sister-in-law has twins and I do NOT envy her or any other mom of multiples. I have 3 kids but since I had them 3 years apart each I only had to deal with one baby or toddler at a time.

I was the complete opposite. I always knew I wanted a bunch of kids and I worked as a nanny in my late teens and early 20's because I loved them so much. If I'd had a stable relationship and financial situation I would've had a baby in my teens, but obviously I didn't. I did get married 2 weeks after graduating
