We had to do pre-marital counseling in order to get married in our church and we THOUGHT that we were in agreement. Turns out people can change their minds and something that had been agreed upon in theory years later can become a source of conflict when it's a reality.

If I had known in 2006 exactly how $#*++y the economy was going to be for so long, I would've tried harder to find a PT or job share position after my 2nd child was born. We were so naively optimistic when my husband was graduating with his MBA about how his career was going to go.

Healthcare it would depend on the employer. Startups don't tend to provide coverage, but established companies tend to for white collar employees. Civil servants typically get very good health insurance. Covered California (aka Obamacare) provides subsidies up to I think $90k-ish for a family with kids.

A big part of the problem is that Federal financial aid doesn't take into consideration dramatic geographical variations in cost-of-living. So a student from a family who lives in a high cost-of-living area gets screwed because on paper it looks like his/her family is better off than the purchasing power of that

There are also plenty of folks like my parents who were too old to have gotten immunized but never had measles either. I've actually encouraged them to get the vaccine because at their age, measles poses a higher risk of complications than it does in younger folks.

If you take your child to sit court-side at a Lakers' game, can you really expect privacy for the child?

I was just thinking the same thing. Prior to fall '07, I stressed WAAAAAAY more about my appearance than money. But once the recession hit, all those vanity issues took a back burner to finances.

Women naturally come in ALL sizes from petite through Amazonian. So yeah, plenty of us are naturally a 4 (which is what used to be a 10 before vanity sizing) down to a 00 (which is what used to be 4).

I didn't like either this movie or Man of Steel. I did like most of Smallville. If you're going to do Superman, you've got to find a way to make it seem fresh. Smallville did by having Lex Luthor be a sympathetic character for several seasons.

She was in Boardwalk Empire and actually wasn't too bad in the role (an aging madam).

As someone who once got nicknamed "mozzarella" by a friend who was an Italian exchange student, fair skin isn't considered superior if you're a white chick. Seems like everyone wants that elusive perfect caramel color of a Halle Berry or Salma Hayek. The white girls by tanning, the darker-skinned girls by whitening

I never knew I had so much anger towards those who don't comprehend addiction as part of a mental illness spectrum.

Substance abuse is 100% preventable, absolutely. Can't get a heroin addiction if you never try the stuff. That is the "stupid" and "senseless" part of PSH's tragedy.

You look at his face and not his gut. My hubby doesn't have the body he did when we got married in our early 20's, but if anything, I think he's more handsome now that he's in his prime.

I like hiking on the rare occasions that I can do it without my kids. One of the things I'm looking forward to when I become an empty nester is resuming hiking on a regular basis.

So a voluptuous woman like Emme isn't beautiful? I know plenty of guys who don't mind a few extra pounds so long as she's got an hourglass figure.

Roma/Gypsies are Caucasian so Hunchback wasn't an interracial romance. Now Princess and the Frog I would count as one because Tiana is black and Prince Naveen is not (his name is South Asian, and the voice actor is Brazilian, so I'm not sure what he is supposed to be).

But she's supposed to be matronly. The young female fairies are all slender.

It goes against all the anecdotal cases of women I know who were unable to conceive UNTIL they had gastric bypass and lost 100+ lbs.

Just don't try and tell other women that your body and way is better than theirs (it isn't.)
