And indeed, the semantics bullshit has began, as I predicted just a month ago.

It seems to me it’s just the to go to excuse these days.
They call it E Football Pro Evolution Soccer now?
For me it really didn’t. Many of the devices used to give the white witch some relevancy could have been easily replaced by other things (the little girl for instance. She is just a guide until the endgame). The only thing relevant that I could think of is the first big bad receiving power from the white witch.
So now the only question is whether this version has all the previously released content, and will bundle all the region specific familiars in one single version as well.
The slog they are talking about is likely the end-game, which was basically tacked on for the PS3. The game keeps a terrific speed during the course of the game (during the storyline that was also used for the DS), but it does lose some of its luster when it comes to the PS3 exclusive narrative bits.
Never thought I would see the day that I could play Seiken Densetsu 3 officially! And they are remaking it in a way that actually looks like an improvement rather than just banking on nostalgia like a certain other title? Man, life is good!
Yeah, I know it was not technically entirely 100% turn based. I call it that way as a matter of convenience. At the end of the day, if we put it between action and turn based it’s still way closer to turn based. Hence my naming sense.
My well-meant apologies to the word bland.
That’s why this particular instance fills me with dread. Those games/movies were just spin-offs. Now we got a remake with all those spin-offs in tow, meaning that Nomura and co are not only going to add those to the narrative, but they are going to expand on that as well likely.
They spend 4 years development just on the Midgar area. Your worry is very likely already reality.
I believe you meant to write VIII?
I never really considered those rumors to be credible. I mean, they have basically shown off nothing but Midgar up until now. Knowing Square Enix, they would have shown off way more if they actually could. Combined with how they handled the development of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, euh, I mean Final Fantasy XV, there…
Yeah, that sounds like a very valid concern. Wanna bet that if they do that, we basically have to listen to the characters telling us in excruciating detail just what we missed between episodes? In cutscene form of course.
“The game design was optimized for this title as well, and we anticipate two Blu-Ray discs’ worth of gameplay content. The first game in this project expands on the story of Midgar and is such an elaborate retelling that it’s become a solid standalone game in its own right.”
Jup, I totally agree. It’s totally for kids.
Good thing I have never been much of a “actual game from Bethesda Game Studios” fan, so there wasn’t really any disappointing me. I like the look of Ghostwire, so I guess I am going to keep an eye on that one. Not feeling Deathloop though.
I beat it on the PC. At one point I really had to double check whether the composer was not secretly Michiru Yamane. The Symphony of the Night feel is unmistakably everywhere.
...a history lesson that also will go over Trump’s head unless someone explains it to him.
It’s a real shame plastic surgery can only take care of the literal asshole.
