This is Atari graphics, plain and simple. It's nothing revolutionary. It's purposely done in that style, and the video narration and style proves it.

I got extremely bored of Skyrim too, was not very fun. Boring combat, faceroll easy, easy to break, and just a bunch of pointless running around.

The thing about DK games is that they usually give you tells or teach you about these mechanics before they throw them at you in a devious/challenging manner. Even then, I don't see much issue with the scene in question.

I tried playing the PC version again like a week ago. Nothing in the game was clickable so I couldn't play. Someone suggested I update my drivers, and I did, and then the game worked, but it caused the UI to randomly disappear on me. No text, no HUD, no nothing. I would imagine the lack of the HUD is due to it being a recorded demonstration.
