I don't really like the idea. This seems really aggressive on a subject matter. Making Link a girl(Zelda a man) in one game is a much better idea. What? Is Prince Link, even with having the Triforce of courage just going to let someone else do all the work? How is Zelda wisdom going to help her mental strength going

You know shit is real when Kotaku's biggest Nintendo fanboy is arguing that the characters in Zelda games are shit. :P

"inspired by the work of Anita Sarkeesian"

This isn't just gender swapping. This is the equivalent of making a Mary Sue. Let's look at regular Link:

I can understand the whole "Zelda and Link switching places" concept, but why is it necessary to turn Link into a complete useless weakling? Is this how the creator actually viewed Zelda when playing the actual games? The fact of the matter is, Zelda is equal to Link as an important character in the whole canon of

You know what's a better idea? Stop messing around with an existing franchise to address whatever societal issues you people have. It's not innovative, and you can't guarantee the game will essentially play better either.

Now playing

Actually can I just put this response up to the original video this idea is based off.
Sadly many will overlook it and probably ignore it, but worth the watch in my opinion.

Outside the fact that this just comes off as lazy (by making Zelda look 'cool' and making Link look like a 'sissy') it completely goes against the entire lore of the series. None of Link's description sounds like a "courageous" character. Nor does it mesh with the entire "planned destiny" set in motion in Skyward

Oh cool, Link grew some breasts and started wearing purple.

All this does it push Zelda into a gender swapped version of Link.

The Ganon design is awesome. The Zelda and Link designs are very much not. Also why does Link have to be "sheltered and naive?" If I recall correctly, Zelda was quite capable and rather informed about the world across many of the games. Seems silly to relegate Link to a foolish boy-prince, no?

Except this goes against the lore of Zelda. Nice concept art though.

The Game is completely different from the anime. From a story perspective, the game is way more interesting than the anime. (Only twelve human survivors plus BRS versus the aliens that destroyed the earth. It goes from there)

Dammit...As soon as I saw the thing about female protagonists in JRPGs, I immediately thought "Oh REALLY?" and stared intently at my Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory box art and artbook cover.

Having a female protagonist is a rarity for JRPGs? Really, there's so many examples to the contrary that a smugly written list shouldn't really be necessary. Plus if I recall, Millia is only one of the protagonists, with the other being Jude, a male.

killing himself would mean he wouldn't exist either.

That's fantastic. Hopefully this'll get the PC version moving faster, and that's alright by me.

As a martial artist, I can say that sporting unusual techniques isn't rare for most martial arts. Only the most rigid systems ban personal interpretation of certain maneuvers. For example, in Tae Kwon Do, a "roundhouse kick" is thrown from the back leg and usually connects around the ribs or head, depending on what's
