I was somebody who applauded Stephen's move on twitter but seeing this article flung about I can't help but view it all as rather dishonest. You seem intent on painting this narrative of some misogynistic horde of gamers going to town on these poor innocent maidens and spreading hate all across the Internet. Not true.

While it is true some people have went too far with making threats or personal insults, I think people are not understanding that a lot of the critique of gaming journalism and game creators has not been threatening or belittling. There is no rationalization of it. However there was also a group of peaceful gamers who want answers for the questions raised about the closeness journalists and developers share. We already know, and sadly accept, the corruption within games, since things like Dorito/Dew issue and the time Jeff Gerstmann was fired…

Why is it that ALL rational debate about her is dismissed as violent and misogynistic? Why is it that no one seems to talk about the people who bring up rational arguments with the flaws in some of her arguments and the method in which she argues?

Calling the trolls harassing her "rational debate" is indeed insulting to rational debate. But the issue is that the attempts at rational debate also get labeled as harassment/misogyny/trolling by the SJW crowd who apparently can't fathom that anything Anita would say might be factually incorrect or even debatable.

So... why do The Young Fine Capitalists recieve so much support from even sites like the "EVIL" 4chan? Maybe because they don't depend on cherry picking and yelling "SEXISM!" everytime a female character dies in a video game? What's the difference between Anita Sarkeesian and TYFC? Think about that.

What I hate about people like this is they talk for the sake of hearing themselves talk, full of hot air and little to no brains. How about you leave my video games alone and go back to living in your hole.

Actually I'm pretty sure plenty of men in the industry get death threats, it's just not news. I'd be surprised if Casey Hudson didn't after Mass Effect 3, I'm sure the people who make CoD get them all the time. But they aren't living and dying off of publicity, so it doesn't get trumpeted to the news every time…

Want to know what is even worse? Not being able to sit back and enjoy a video game for what it is. That would be awful.
