It may have been the target audience, but in Japan this game sells pretty well to female gamers. More so than the usual JRPGs. There are also some male characters in the game that you can chose for your party which are fan favourites for women.

Problematic in what way? Is there a connection between sexual crime rates? Or is it just because of different cultural values? But than we also have our fair share of "schoolgirl porn" and from my point of view, disgusting child beauty pageant contests. I live in a european country where the age of consent is lower…

Because it's a niche market and it's a big risk for a company to switch to an unknown target demographic.

I only play on hard plastic mousepads. It's a personal preference but they are easier to clean.

5-6 years ago instead of buying a new Desktop PC I went and bought a gaming notebook. This was the worst decision I ever made when buying hardware. Everything is worse compared to a Desktop PC for almost 3 times the price.
