Here is what I think of Zelda being weak. It's really unbelievable that Zelda is seen as "weak" damsel in distress because of A.S.'s ignorance.

Thinking that Zelda isn't strong is the real sad part about this whole damsel in distress trope. I would argue she is the strongest character in the whole franchise.

The reason would rather be that being a mage in this scenario would require the Triforce of Wisdom, wielding the sword is associated with courage. She couldn't have both.

Seriously Zelda is not a Damsel in distress. She is the owner of the Triforce of Wisdom and the true successor of the throne. Without her guiding Link he would not be able to overcome Ganon. It's wisdom and courage that overcome power.

You don't see that change because you don't know enough about the lore of the Zelda games.

Trying to make a niche game appeal to the masses is the wrong approach. I do not need an english dub, it sounds wierd and any kind of immersion is destroyed when characters start talking.

As a man, I think it's cool and the world would be a better place if they could dress like this more often :)

I would think percentage based, there are more JRPGs that have a female protagonist than actual buyers. But I have no numbers, and it certainly would rise further.

Was the game any good? I remember the anime, which I dropped... but my sister adored it. Maybe I'll even get it for her.

I guess some Final Fantasy games, Hyperdimensional Neptunia, Mugen Souls, Odins Sphere. Some more, basicly if there are too many male characters in the game it is not for me. That may be even targeted more at girls.

Not buying wihtout original dub. I'm a non-native english speaker, any kind of immersion is immediantly destroyed when watching anime characters speak english.
