The tone of this article, to the fact they had to apologize, to the total nothing level of offense in the messages themselves. The internet outrage culture is so tiresome.

Remember when things were fun? Like...people had fun, and did fun things, and we all laughed and said, ‘hey, that was fun’? Did I dream all that up? Or was there actually a fun time, before this time, which is decidedly un-fun?

Are we so soft skinned that there needs to be a public apology for these? They are just little inside jokes between the development team. So what? Did it hurt anyone, did it cause a loss of life or irreputable harm to someone? No? Then just move on with your life, lets not have to make every single thing some public

Remember when people were pissed that Valve made you sign up for Steam to play Half Life 2? And now they’re pissed at Epic for having their own digital storefront. Good times.

They should just be put down... seriously.

You mean you want gamers who pay $60 of their hard-earned cash for a broken  AAA title to be nice and friendly with the fucks who ripped them off?

Oh wow, you really converted me.

No fucking shit. Gamers can be some of the most entitled assholes ever. Why the hell would someone want to engage with spoiled shits who armchair game develop, as if content and features are as easy to make as a meme template.

These people need to have their IPs reported to local police agencies immediately. We all know what would happen if these individuals declared their support for ISIS on Steam.  Knock on the door by the FBI within minutes.

I suspect that many Tesla fans like Elon for that exact reason. I don’t own a Tesla, nor am I an Elon bro, but I really have no problem with how he presents. He might not be very good at it, but the grandiose presentations from other CEO’s don’t particularly impress me either. I don’t think anyone is concerned about

I know T. Jon ( we worked at the same company for a short time) so I’m not going to argue with him, especially since his explanation is accurate. But there is another reason.

This guy works. This guy understands how to build himself into a desirable asset. All of you people here pretending to know what you are talking about should listen to him.

This was written in a way that makes it feel like the person only tangentially understands what’s wrong with the industry. The whole sleepless nights, Red Bull, management pressure story doesn’t really fit the narrative for Activision Blizzard’s layoffs of what seemed to be in divisions that aren’t programmer-specific.

You can also risk being fired immediately. You keep using the insane example where a bunch of like minded employees in a relatively small company unionized. Activision is a pretty large corporation with multiple philosophies towards worker’s rights. I am sure the unionizing employees would be fired and replaced easily

It’s a corporation. It exists to make money. Why do you think they wouldn’t want to make more?

Ohh look, another guy who has zero leadership knowledge commenting about leadership.

Then you just get giant unions who are as bad, or worse, than the company.  Look at UAW and how they railroaded GM into bankruptcy.  You’re just getting rid of one baddie for another baddie.  People need to be responsible for their own situations more instead of seeing themselves as constant victims.  If you don’t

I don’t see how this is relevant w/o context. What is your formula for appropriate pay of C-suite employees in charge of a company that makes $7 billion a year?

So... you didn’t get to the ship combat or sailing, cultist missions, inventory upgrades, free exploration, leader takedowns, mercenary combat, arena, ability upgrades, hunting, war battles, romance options, tomb exploration... but you got bored. The Ritalin isn't stocked near the video games -- look elsewhere.
