Does it make me overly cynical if I think we could get the non-G-rated answers from the NSA?

It's a self-titled show that's completely centered around one person's performance. Colbert isn't just the host on the Report, he's the entire show. There's no way it can carry on without him.

She's extremely corporate-friendly (was on the board of Wal-Mart for several years), has voiced almost no opinions on the NSA scandals, and has been positioning herself for the presidency for over a decade. I want to see a woman president too, but I'd feel much more comfortable voting for Jill Stein or Elizabeth

There are legitimate reasons to dislike a Hillary Clinton candidacy. She's a career politician who's abandoned or hedged on unpopular issues before, she was on the board of Wal-Mart and has voiced only token support for unions, while heavily supporting H-1B visas, she's voiced almost no opinion on the NSA scandals...

They aren't entirely off base - it's a little known fact that Captain America is actually a dramatization of exactly what they're talking about. The Super Soldier Serum was real, developed as a response to the homosexual master race being pursued by the Nazis. Some of their research was stolen, which is why Steve

While I have no concern with life sentences for people who are truly irredeemable threats to society, I have to dispute the idea that most rapists qualify. There's a surprising number of studies out there that suggest sexual offenders actually have lower recidivism rates than other crimes, and even statistics given

At the risk of voicing an unpopular opinion here - we don't usually hand down life sentences for rape because indefinite imprisonment serves little purpose except revenge. Our penal system is at least theoretically based on a model where part of the goal is rehabilitation and reintegration. A life sentence places a

To be fair, the story WAS crap. Unceremonious offing of Deckard, the first act being heavily recycled D2, out of the blue betrayal by Adria, Leah being a plot device that was about as sympathetic as a cat that won't stop screaming at your window when you sleep, and Imperius being such a raging asshole that his wings

What is THAT from?

There's pretty loud rumors that Blizzard's not planning to stick to one expansion, and several of the side-quests in RoS lay groundwork for more, so Leah may yet resurface.

No, but if you chew more, you can trick your brain into feeling fuller. Doesn't make it less shitty advice, but there is at least some reasoning behind it.

Shaq Fu-ck No.

"The fact that no evidence has been offered to support the police position"

I haven't been reading any of your comments outside of the ones directed at me, because that's how Kinja displays threads when coming through to them via notification.

Yeah, you really, REALLY don't.

On a less sarcastic note, "the police shot someone for holding a Wiimote when answering his door"? That's per the guy who's going to collect a sizable paycheck if the police settle the case.

And of course, the first statement that comes from police anytime someone is shot despite being unarmed - "He had a gun". Doesn't matter that there are eyewitnesses on the scene saying otherwise, doesn't matter that there was virtually no reason for the victim to be armed, doesn't matter that the actual taking into

Somehow, "police shoot unarmed teenager in his home" doesn't inspire me to think that the police are the only ones that should be trusted with guns.

Putting their lives on the line is the JOB. If they're incapable of handling that, they need to find other work, before events like this happen. The police carry greater responsibility than the average citizen - that means they need to be subject to higher standards, not lesser ones.

Who cares? The police shot someone for holding a Wiimote when answering his door. I don't care if Christopher Roupe was 17, 70, or any ages in between or beyond, that's an inexcusable use of lethal force.
