For those who state that Earth hour doesn't do much, or, as one person told me, causes a spike afterwards, just this:

When did the address bar become "awesomebar"? I'd been assuming this was an add-on to FF.

Maturation is a process; society adds specific markers (such as voting age) as markers. After 5 decades I am still working out the process of maturing. Your question asked for behaviours and qualities that a "real grown-up" should show. Many good ones in the comments already. I would add finally having the ability

What peeves me is that it is easy to vote with your feet, as an individual. Boycotts, which have the power to affect change, are pooh-poohed by so many, to the point that people rarely agree to participate, and if they don't participate, they rarely work.

I decided in university to have a washroom break midway any class over an hour in length, whether I needed it for the obvious reason or not. 3-4 minutes without chatter and I always came back refreshed, fi not with new ideas or a better understanding of the course material I don't think I ever missed substantive

I've long done onions, etc. using the stove as workspace. The vent helps with a lot of things. Of course, having a poorly designed kitchen made the stove vent idea easier to recognize.....

Wow!. I had no idea Eudcedit existed! I now can use [dang—doesn't show up here] instead of .: to mean "ergo" or "therefore".

Yea, cloud! (How do I punctuate it to sound like the lady in the commercial, who is watching something like "Celebrity Revenge", at the airport?

At age ten, long, long ago. I taught myself chess with a library book and pieces made our of cardboard (simple squares with red or black ink with K, Q, Kn, R, etc. on them) on a paper board. I was too busy learning and enjoying the game to put the time into making a better set. It wasn't until I started beating

I love treasure hunting and impulse buying. So I gave up my Costco membership after two years. I wasn't spending enough to be worth it, because my more rational spouse kept questioning my glee.

@thepcguy: If you read this, thepcguy, you are not alone . There is one tip that I now use, and that is to toss "ca." at teh beginning of the url, i.e. [ca.lifehacker.com]

Another option for permanent remapping (that can be changed back) you can also use KeyTweak ([webpages.charter.net] to remap keys, including those for media and internet browsing.

I moved the taskbar to the left side of the screen (after testing the other sides) when I first moved to dual screen a couple years ago, so that the screens would align. Then I did it at home a few months later when forced to replace my screen. The number of times I had to explain where the Start button was.....

While Firefox and IE both have something like Ctrl-O to put in urls, I use the url bar all the time by preference. I can see it and edit the url, and often do so. I can choose Ctrl-L (firefox) or Ctrl-D (IE) to keyboard to it if I don't want to use the mouse.

I use a Black and Decker one-cup auto-shut off and a small bowl or cup for almost anything I need hot water for. Works for my afternoon oatmeal as well, and easy to clean up, much like this tip

It's the phrase I've used since I can remember a long, long time ago.
