I never have icons on my desktop. I use PStart, and use lots of hotkeys to start my apps and key documents. Icons get put onthe desktop anyway, and rather than deleting again and again, I clear them out with a batch process every startup.

Agreed. I liked the video, but credit should be given to you. I followed your tip back when it appeared, and enjoyed the result.
Really enjoyed the series. I don't have Photoshop yet but when I do, I will pull these out again. I finally understand how layers work and why, despite the cost, Photoshop is the one for professionals.
I am not sure they have, as I rarely get there in winter anymore. The last time it looked like they might have "salted" the major roads—never the side streets; they still looked like what we used to affectionally call Regina, "Rutland". My best guess is that some of the chemical "Salts" have a lower freezing point…

I don't worry about places that don't give receipts for donations in kind. The gift can be just as meaningful if given without expectation of a tax break.
Feelings are always right—for the feeler. The first step is always to acknowledge the feeling, and then move on from there. This is as important for good feelings as bad. This is as I understand it a universal human requirement.
A couple things to add from here in Canada to an overall good article. When you start your car, try to have a window open a half-inch or so. This allows moisture to escape just enough that you are not fogging the inside of the windshield while it is still cold.
Hardware: I walk to work each day with either my Archos media player as audiobook player in inclement weather or the Sony PRS-700 eReader (touchscreen) which I can handle almost completely one-handedly.
ClipCube does not concatenate the clips, but it good at hanging on to them for one-at-a-time retrieval Unfortunately, I often want to concatenate them, especially when I want an article, its title, its url, etc.
And carry spare socks while the inner ones dry out. The reason for the outer socks outside the plastic bag is to keep the plastic from ripping on the grommets, etc...
It is easier to find gluten-free tortillas than gluten-free tortilla-chips (you have to check all those other chemicals, etc.), so homemade has its advantages.
While all of these have some benefit, we should not overstate it. When tests have been done clinically, it shows that crosswords make you better at—-crosswords, and sudoku at sudoku. They can transfer to near skills, but not broadly (e.g. sudoku won't help you with letter problems very much).
My 10k timer from Johannes Wallroth, [www.programming.de] is enough for almost everything I need.
Looking for this for over three years now. I have a lot of docs that need trimming.
We have time-of-use billing (Ontario, Canada), so I've become good at doing almost all recharging at night, as well as dishwasher, clothes washers, etc.
@walladav: Cheating, but I do the same.
@Trivia: The Fahrenheit scale was developed with 0 degrees F being the point where equal masses of salt and water (i.e. salt-water) freeze. So, salt water will work up to 0F or -18C
@David Josselyn: Had to look that one up. Good to know about this Mac program, Pages. I'll let my iPad and Mac fanatic friends know.
@derilium: I have that, too, for when I am actually in the car. (too many gadgets!)
