Unfortunately, within a couple weeks of the release of any new MS version, some manager will start sending out documents using it. For me it is another go-round of getting the Viewer, using it until OpenOffice has it figured out, then into the scrap heap.
@ndonahue: I worry about Canadian privacy some, too, but my spouse (an American) and I agree that at least that the Canadian privacy legislation has teeth to it. It was the Cdn Privacy Commissioner that convinced Facebook to up its privacy protocols some months ago.
Why I don't yet use Dropbox: Is there a Canadian version of Dropbox with all servers residing in Canada? If any of the servers reside in the U.S.A., the Homeland Security Act has not yet been sufficiently amended by President Obama to make me comfortable with putting files that may have personal data on servers which…
Sounds like Weight Watchers...
Believe it or not, a lot of people think that buyers are only influenced by what is under the hood, the same way that people don't always clean up or stage their houses before putting them on the market.
@Cornflower: Made a mistake. It is the nature of Windows Symbolic links, not the network, that makes the symbolic links not work on the network.
@seanmac30: Symbolic links are excellent for us command line junkies. Or those of us old enough to hate %appdata%, Mozilla profile names, etc. I've been using Mark Russinovitch's [junction.exe] (from SysInternals) for a couple years now on my XP. It is command line.
@Fried_Brain_Cells: No longer, and as a grandparent, I am in the enviable position of never feeling the need to apologize for them acting like kids! This status does have its privileges...
@Wolfess: I guess they like the cat food better. I haven't had silverfish in some years, now, but if I do, I may look you up for the prescription—sounds like a very good bait!
@Wolfess: Silverfish eat books. Horrible, horrible, creatures.
3 rooms only. Living Room, Washroom, and to a reasonable extent, Kitchen. Anything else is overkill, imo.
@matricks54: Dos still exists in my heart. Command line is Dos-like, so the words are sometimes used interchangeably.
Of course, from the command line you can call up any windows tool. My fav is Everything. As I put it on the path, I type "everything" from the command line run key, whatever, and then immediately start typing in something that is in the path or filename, to jump very quickly there. I use it with a "drop to dos"…
I started doing this one year when I took 5 boxes of decent used books and received a pittance for them. I turned around and started giving away instead of selling many items, including old appliances (running condition and still usable). I do not do it with most electronics, unless I know it can still be used this…
The smarter ones detect .scr and .com to be sure, and if it detects headers, then you need to have the bootable USB or CD with your anti-malware cleaners.

I agree I had to read the article twice to be sure of what I was reading.
Used to use salt on canker sores. And made sure I rinsed my mouth after ingesting anything, so as to not aggravate it. Don't know if the salt worked, but I think so, psychologically it made a kind of sense.
Socks. Have 90% the same colour. Lay them on top of each other; they are flat and don't take up extra room or stretch. The other 10% do the same after sorting. I usually am aware of when I want to wear those socks so have my eyes open when I get those, and they are on the other side of the drawer.
