I ride my electric unicycle with a group of these skateboard guys occasionally. They have the other boosted boards that are longer. I have a rode a couple and they are neat, but not something I would enjoy riding for more than a few minutes. Very bumpy and uncomfortable. Read more

“...possibly the only good use for those plastic-extruding machines.”
Really? I prototype parts and design ideas with one at work all the time, literally saving my company thousands of dollars and tons of time over having one-off items or spit-ball ideas made by a fabricator. Yup, totally worthlesss.

To be fair to Apple, pretty much any repair on an iPhone requires replacing a damaged screen. You need to suction the screen apart from the body to get at the components and you cannot do it without damaging the cracked screen further.

Thanks for the info! I knew they used glue to keep the lug nuts on the wheel, but I’ve often wondered why the threads don’t bump the lug nuts off the wheel when they mount the wheel. This part explained it well: Read more

This is what I did. Never bothered with Windows virtual desktops until I found a way to bind switching between them with my mouse. Now I run 6 virtual desktops every day

Obsolete in two years? That’s laughable. iOS 11 still supports the iPad Air which released in 2013. And my 2 iPad Air 2 run like champs.

I found the one that notifies freebies from r/GameDeals annoying. It’s mostly posts about “free weekend” or “DRM Free”. And when there is a legit free game, it’s usually trash.

If your on PC, you’re better off using https://isthereanydeal.com/ It’ll keep track of games on your waitlist and notify you when they hit an Read more

USPS is a failing business model by almost every measurement. I see it on an almost daily basis just observing how unreliable delivery is...IN THE CITY OF ATLANTA. I’m not even out in the burbs, but I’ll go days without getting any mail (my whole neighborhood will). I’ll get false delivery attempt notifications (which Read more

Yeah. I’m running iOS 11.2.1 on a 5s just fine. I’ve never had a “Plus” phone and never mastered the keyboard. It’s good enough for my purposes, but I wouldn’t do any professional work on it. I do trade stocks on it, but the numerical pad on the TD Ameritrade app is ridiculously large even on a standard phone. Read more

I followed a similar route. I refuse to pay full price for these smartphones, so I either wait for the older phone to become inconvenient or wait for a deal. I paid $99 for my original iPhone 3G, paid $199 for the 5, $30 for the 5S 32GB, $199 for my wife’s 6, and $350 for her 7 ($300 Target GC). There are so many Read more
