I think the newer phones with the larger batteries are more CPU efficient as well. Note 4, iPhone 6 Plus, Nexus 6, etc.

For whatever reason I had to keep my previous Galaxy S4 screen fairly dim or it would eat the battery life. Now with a iPhone 6+ I can leave it right in the middle setting and it's more than bright enough and lasts all day. Granted the iPhone has a larger battery, but only by 300~mAh or so.

Worth a shot. Guess it's a good thing I only drive my car every few weeks.
