The dance was the best part of this episode. The dance was a great part of Last of the Timelords.

The season could have easily been the last for the show with all those loose ends hinting at off screen adventures but instead they decided that since the show was ending, they better kill off Vanessa, despite the fact it meant she has the worst possible ending for her character. A few episodes earlier she uses…
The video essay is 57 minutes long, it sounds like you didn’t make through the intro. That intro, which starts with two minutes on Guy Fieri, focuses on how whithering critical takedowns have become pervasive online, and how the pop culture conversation has primed itself for everyone who writes online and their…
Rufus did mention he had kids
You’re right, it’s easy to handwave. Except the TARDIS didn’t let the cube in in “The Doctor’s Wife”, it knocked and the Doctor had to open the door manually. And that was Timelord technology!
Yeah, the moral message of this episode was gibberish.
I can’t recall if there was a line that explained it, but doesn’t the TARDIS usually have some sort of defense against random people (or delivery robots) teleporting in unannounced? The Doctor’s still getting used to the systems, but she should probably find out how to switch those things on, just in case the next…
While we’re on the topic of Gear Head, I was actually a little disappointed to see him. His fate in the gif is so memorable, and such a chilling threat to never cross Rick, that having show up randomly undercut it more than a little. Especially cause the only value in using him seems to be “hey remember this guy?”
The Mountain.
If Netflix adaptation turns out to be a hit, and the sequels get a series (a season?) I’m curious whether they’ll be confident enough in the premise to replace the full cast every year.
She makes Martha look capable and good by comparison
Who would *suddenly* find Missy ridiculous? The idea that John Sim was any less ridiculous is ridiculous. That idea that Eric Roberts was any less ridiculous is ridiculous. The idea that Anthony Ainley was any less ridiculous is particularly ridiculous, since during his tenure there didn’t even seem to be any…
I had just gotten into Dr Who with the beginning of the new series. That scene told me more about what the doctor had gone through and how much he needed redemption more than any other moment I have ever seen in the series.
To induldge in some nit-picking: The Sisterhood of Karn is made up of Gallifreyans. If Karn survived the Time War that means that - even before the jiggery-pokery in Day of the Doctor - the Doctor was never the last Time Lord. At most he was the last practicing Time Lord.
The unnamed narrator in Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Susana Clarke is more subtly snarky than something like Hitchhikers, but the persistent gap between what the narrator is saying and what we’re meant to take away is why the book is so often described as Jane Austin with magic.
And their ambition, to solve the most basic equation of the universe and achieve godlike powers, is something that seems like it could support more story.
They had permission enough to shoehorn the Daleks into the intro.
>That's it, the end. Most horrific movie ever.
Can I just say I'm a little annoyed they recast Pierre? I get that there's a meta joke about how TV treats people of color here, but I'm not sure its good enough to warrant the switch. Aldo Mignone was really great as the bartender who keeps receiving perfect drink recipes from those who tragically die in his arms.
Season 1 is on Hulu Plus. Hopefully they'll be making season 2 available the same way.
