You're allowed to do whatever you want. My point is that it's not the burden of strangers to keep you entertained.

Not *their* fault you don't have anyone to talk to.

This is usually followed by, "Oh what are you doing?" by the people who are not-quite-right-in-the-head-enough to initiate chats with strangers anyway.

Please make sure the other party is willing. Even if YOU feel happier, the other party may not.

Haha this made me laugh out loud because it's true.

I'd lie if I didn't say that was the case. Small talk is worse for me than someone coming up and slapping or insulting me.

I consider placing any requirement of a response on me as an imposition. I don't expect anyone to alter their behaviour just because of people like me, but I automatically hate you if the onus is on me to just tell you to leave me a lone.

Oh yeah for sure, I use SQLYog for crafting queries first most of the time anyway, but a few minutes before I wrote my response I was amazed again at how the IDE had knowledge of my database without me setting anything complex up and was just suggesting away nicely without me having to switch back to my db editor, so

It sounds like there's a lot you're missing. I don't have the time to list all the features that it has over a text editor, but I can give a few simple examples of things I've used in the last few minutes that I'm pretty sure aren't in any text editors. For example,

I use IntelliJ IDEA. It does everything, you might want to check it out even though it's even more of an IDE than Netbeans (which I also used for years).

Intellij IDEA.

If you have the IDE open all of the time like I do, I find it's always faster to use the IDE for editing and the IDE's editor is just as nimble as any text editor with all the added benefits. The exception would be huge files like a SQL export where the IDE will try and parse it all, in which case I'd use something

I finally went with a paid IDE over Sublime Text and open-source text editors/IDEs and have never looked back. Best $200 I've ever spent.

Four-to-six-line functions are a hellofa lot easier to understand than trying to decipher a fellow programmer's comments which are half business logic and half pseudocode.

Same, developing with Unity and multiple monitors is a nightmare for me. The taskbar is the main source of grief for me in Unity, so I switched over to Kubuntu and now everything is awesome.

I've found Kubuntu to be an awesome desktop when transitioning from Windows.

People doing something illegal does not necessarily put your life in danger. Conversely, following the law is not always the safest action. For example, if everyone is going 80 and you're going 65, you're more likely to be in an accident than anyone else, all other factors being equal - the person driving slowly

No.

The blame really lies on Facebook if you think about it.

Facebook knows damn well how they're perceived. They knew damn well what the response would be. They knew damn well that they made Oculus an offer that couldn't be refused. They know damn well the Rift will now be aimed at satisfying Facebook's stupid fucking

These two, both taken with a Nexus 4.
