Man. This bums me out, because honestly.... The Shop contest is what keeps bringing me back.

We live in the same town. I met you briefly when you were covering the Civil War Lan on campus years ago. Good job, good luck... And if you start a 'shop contest at Polygon drop me a line.

... Wait, what happened to owen?

I'm so confused by this costume. While I enjoy the view, I don't know why one would bother wearing a skirt that will NEVER EVER go low enough in any pose.

No, I get that and you're not wrong. My problem is that I feel like they're trying to leverage the price of the expansion out of me to sell me the finished product that I thought I was buying the first time around.

Y NO NEW PHOTOSHOP CONTEST? ARRRRRRRRG.

We need substitute shop contest topics. You're cool, but two weeks with no 'shop brings out my inner troll.

This happens every launch. Why are we surprised? Would we rather they NOT tune the game to the hardware?

Consoles are bad for technology moving forward. By embracing consoles, we are saying "yes it's okay: Let's lock hardware down for five year increments so that developers have steady ground to stand on."

We need to

Jay Wilson was indeed responsible, but I don't buy that all of the bad decisions left with him. He was removed as a PR move so that people could say just what you're saying. I'm still skeptical.

I think that you and I are on the same page about the launch and Wilson. You telling me that things are better now does a lot

1. Having shitty items at launch (something that I hear has since been rectified) did more to kill the gold buying black market than the auction house did.

2. I did buy the game. The collector's edition, in fact. And I leveled three characters to max level and endgame content. I've earned my right to say that the game

I totally respect that you're having fun and can admit that the game is not without its merits.

Yes. The real money auction house is a great example of a cash grab.

Since you seem to be an expert, can you state what your definition of the term "cash grab" is?

Like I said, I'm willing to try the expansion if buzz on the post-auction house patching continues to be good.

Look up the definition of a contrarian. We poke the world with sticks in an effort to make it a better place.

My anger comes from having been in the original beta. We predicted every single thing that was wrong

That's sad news. I didn't realize that it was ongoing.

I don't believe this at all. My post has nothing to do with your purchasing decisions.

The auction house was absolutely a cash grab, and even the devs now admit that it was a horrible mistake that ruined everything.

I'm willing to try again in a few months.

The game is absolutely not amazing. (although admittedly I haven't played the new patch, so maybe it is now.) I would suggest that you don't have the qualifications to make such a statement.

Disagree. The new patch has been out for days. To expect those of use who were offended by the initial release to be mollified this soon is silly.

It's never too late to call "Too little, too late."

I might try the expansion. Maybe.

If it weren't for people like me and our soap boxes they never would have bothered to revamp basically every system. Think about that while you enjoy the changes. Without critics, change doesn't happen. We ARE the financial incentive to improve an already released product.

It was like.. A year ago? A year and a half? Of course we're still around, it hasn't been that long.

Good to hear, but I don't trust their community relations anymore.
