While role-playing is about creating your own adventure, let's not forget that it's supposed to have a narrative as well. The CRPG genre originated from pen and paper RPGs, which featured role-playing, adventure, and an overarching narrative.

"Should of stuck with a 360."

Look buddy, I don't care if it's horrible or not. I WANT a PC version because it's the ONLY way I can play GTAV. I don't have a console anymore, thanks to YLoD and RRoD.

I guess this shows how many aren't very wise with their money. Sigh. Ah well. :P

While it's good to know what kind of games you like, it's still helpful to consider what reviews say, especially those by critics that you generally agree with. You can be a fan of X series, but since you're not running on unlimited funds, you still need to know if the latest instalment is not currently a bug-addled

Good point on the bad reviews. I do that too. Bad reviews give me insight on why people criticise the game.

That's because reviews are based on a person's views, and may not necessarily be shared by everyone, including you. As a consumer, it's still your responsibility to find out if a game would be something that you think you'd like, even if it gets a high score (unless you like throwing around your money).

Considering how the Wii delved into the market for casual gamers, netting them a great deal of money in the process, why wouldn't they seek to continue reaching for that market as well as core gamers?

Here's something interesting that Kotaku doesn't seem to have picked up yet:

How about a compromise? People can share games with family, but only if they're online. However, online isn't a requirement. I think there's a huge difference between required online connectivity every 24 hours, and optional connectivity to enjoy a useful feature.

Isn't it possible for Microsoft to retain the good features (e.g. the family sharing thing) and completely ditch the DRM? You yourself admitted that it was an evil featurea necessary evil—which as you've seen, enraged so many core gamers.

Sincerely sorry about that. I was just so surprised that you consider the anti-consumer features of the Xbone as something to look forward to.

Kinda disagree here. Isn't the barrier to entry for PC gaming initial price? To get a decent rig to play games the way PC gaming enthusiasts talk about, you need $700+ most likely. Yes, I know, you can bargain hunt for cheap pieces and build your own.

Innovation lost. Stagnation won, that is a massive loss. We have the same consoles for another decade now. Today wasn't a celebration - it was extremely disappointing.

Correction: Batman Beyond can never hold a candle to Batman TAS.

You mean to say you were happy with the way the Xbone was going? Is that you, Adam Orth?

Augusta may not be the world's best to some people, but let me assure you, it's considered the world's best by the people that matter in golf.

It's actually widely accepted that Augusta is the world's best. Look it up.

But that's not a review (i.e. commentary, analysis). That's a report. A mere list of bullet points. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, but what you're referring to is an entirely different matter.
