STOP IGNORING TRANSISTOR THAT GAME IS SO OVERLOOKED UGH
My favorite loading screen is no loading screen at all.
I think part of the reason people got so down on Assassin's Creed Unity was because this game came along and ate its lunch in terms of player control, stealth options and enjoyable combat. But Shadow of Mordor does so many other things so well: the nemesis system is more of a game than the actual story, and that…
Just realized how Luke and I have so much in common in game preference.
I want this hobo arno costume.
The game did an excellent job capturing the grand scope and feel of Paris and its absolo— *Bleep* "You have unspent credits, use them to upgrade Arno!"
Now this feels... off.
Pretty sure there's a lot better concept art floating around the internet than a character sketch. I mean come on.
Who gives a flying fuck what color their clothes are.
How about this; I've only recently decided to invest myself into RPG's (mostly because I want to play something on my vita) so which of these three would you pick to start with?
If sony has something to show, they'll present it. Much in the same way nintendo did.
Sigh they did that for steam sales, too.
During a cut-scene you're probably setting your controller down on the table and just taking a brief break, I'd say the only time a mid-cutscene QTE works well is in the introduction of a game (for reference think of AC2 when you're controlling a newborn ezio with QTE's that are actually very captivating) mostly…
QTE's are only really bad if they're something that pop ups mid- cutscene/gameplay.
My only issue with shadow of mordor is that it could have easily been re-skinned with another lore/world, I think to a lot of people the selling point is a high-quality triple-A title set in Tolkien's universe... only it has almost nothing to do with it.
Shadow of Mordor very much feels like a tech-demo for the nemesis system with unoriginal gameplay and dull, boring world.
Dammit Kotaku why do you do this to us.
Whats sad is that if a western developer came out with something like this, everyone would be head-over-heels ready to buy it.
Here's what I'm doing: I fire up Unity, it loads, I long-press the right thumbstick (which removes the game's HUD) and go for long, casual strolls. Which to many of you probably makes me sound like a crazy person.
