@travisdeshazo: I'm not making any claims to a lack of ignorance; in fact, I'm asking for some information to help me, as I am ignorant about how this could benefit me.

@PowerPatrick: Uh-huh. Except that nobody in the cool-kids Linux crowd can (or will) give me an explanation of how this would be beneficial. I don't think "one-click installations" really justifies going through all these motions; it's solving a problem that isn't really a problem.

@PowerPatrick: Uh-huh. I "red" it. What I'm not getting is a reason, other than "because I need it". Why? Beneficial how? What is the benefit? I'm not trying to pick a fight, I'm trying to make sense of how the information in this post could make me more productive.

@PowerPatrick: OK. I'll buy that. What Linux apps would Windows users want to use?

Why?

It's not snobbery.

@Protector one: You could, but I'd recommend that you give Netscape Navigator a shot. You'll find a big uptick in reliability.

Doesn't work with the latest Firefox. Workaround?

Love it. Still leaves a fairly big column of unused space on the right, but still a big improvement.

@TheFu: At the risk of being branded a complete noob, the areas in which I have the least skills generally involve spreadsheets and graphing, and this install of Office 2003 doesn't have MS Project. I tried to find a 2003-compatible template, even something similar enough that I could tweak - but no dice.

I like this a lot. Great to use in the office for quick & easy collaboration. And I like the various export options (txt, word, pdf). win

@Condalmo: Even a static version - something to save & print...

So: any freeware or web apps that you can use to put one of these together?

@Marand: Which will enable you to regain your awesomeness.

It says "Monday only" for the Redbox freebie.
