That's a very good point. Saying it last highlights it as something extra special about her, therefore elevating it as perhaps the most important quality.

I would actually be really mortified if a leader in my field talked about me like that. That was the first thing that came to mind when I read this.
Nah, he totally is a toally skeezy harasser. He's a lot of things that he deserves acknowledgement for, but he's also a serial harasser.
Exactly. I mean good for her, she looks hot, but it's still an impossible beauty standard. Bodies like Gabi's don't do anything for me in terms of body acceptance, but I like seeing them anyway.
That's super weird, because what was she going to do with the cake? Moisturize with it Mrs. Doubtfire style?
That is a very good point. I hadn't considered that. The lack of boundaries is just astounding, but I guess it always has been. They both dumped a lot of stuff on me about the other back when I was a teen too, it just ramped up in intensity once divorce was on the table. They did expect me to be their friend and…
Yep. It's coming up on 3 years that I haven't talked to my dad, mostly because of his behavior coming up to and during the divorce as well.
Right? My parents are going through a hellacious divorce and without the legal protections that exist my dad would have completely destroyed them both to be able to spite my mom. He was able to exploit the process to drag her through a heinous multi-year divorce, but at least she won't walk away from it destitute.
That's why I get married when I did too!
Lots of universities have computer labs with software that locks to the word-processor. I've taken and taught a few courses where all exams were held in such a lab.
Retin-A is the secret, but I think I need to crank it up. I've been using 0.02% and it's helping, but still getting acne. :(
Ugh, wrinkles plus acne! What's up with that? It's like the sickest joke.
Ugh, it's so tough to witness. I hope you're taking care of yourself!
It seems to escape people. I guess it's just easier to blame it on the person being terrible. Thanks for your kind comment. It meant a lot to me. :)
Thank you!
Thanks! I was expecting my comment to get buried but it was really nice to get such an outpouring of kindness. :)

Oh, is that a thing? I guess it must be. My mom actually never bought any booze, my dad would keep the house well stocked and then bitch about what a drunk my mom was. It was a really fucked up. I'm SO relieved that they're finally getting divorced, but kind of bitter that they decided to "stay together for the…
I went to a Catholic school and by second semester senior year I was like F this shit. We were assigned a term paper on based on our understanding of Catholic theology, what would the pope have to say about Jerry Springer? I guess I could have written a diatribe, but I felt like my complete disregard for the…
OMG, that makes so much sense. I lived with a really religious woman for a while who loved Tyler Perry movies and kept trying to get me to watch them but they mostly made me want to barf. Somehow the article didn't make me make the connection, but your comment did. So much sense.
