The Tesla frunk pop only works when the 12V is dead, so it’s not like someone can just go do it to your car in the grocery store parking lot

You are confusing two different things. Both can be true.

Yes, this is a balanced take. Many ICE vehicles with electronic doors would have the same challenge. Tesla’s solution is a bit inelegant.

See my reply above re: racing - $1M for a true GT2 race ready car isn’t crazy. Based on its popularity in GT2 racing, the KTM X-Bow GT2, which starts at ~$330K and then needs to be track-prepped.

I enjoy endurance car racing (e.g., WEC, IMSA WeatherTech). These series rely on multi-millionaires (not really billionaires) to buy and run these cars in the race series. It’s a little sad to me to have one less make that could have been a contender, regardless of how impractical such a small brand is today.

Better yet, just buy some USB-A to USB-C adapters, rather than the full cables. You can get 4 for $6 on Amazon pretty easily, I’ve never had any problems with them.

I suspect you would still need to get a rights release to be able to use their likeness in a commercial product, regardless of trademark status. For the same reason you can just take a picture of someone on the street and use it commercially, you need a model release.

Noted. Seems easy to understand. Did you mean it is unusual?

Interestingly, I find no discussion of tipping in the comments here?

I never asked if the non-STI version insurance costs were in the same ballpark, hopefully the insurance companies figured that part out.

You’re exactly right, I left this explanation out to keep my original comments shorter, but the short gearing is a killer - my normal cruising speed on the NJ turnpike was about 4-4.2K RPM in 6th gear. Just brutal for both noise levels and gas mileage.

Not sure about emissions , but the fuel efficiency on my 2015 WRX STI was absolutely abysmal. My V12 DB-9 got better mileage on the highway.

You say “Can I bum a fag” and we’ve come full circle on this comment thread.

You forgot Donald Trump, he wouldn’t be anywhere without his daddy’s money.

Yes, I raced to the comments for this. I’m guessing Collin has never driven a high powered RWD car.

So this is exactly where my thinking went. Douse the rubber floor mats with some beer, drive around slowly trolling for the traffic stop, don’t be particularly cogent in the initial interview - then zero the blood test when you get to jail.

Yes, I think this is a fair take as well.  I’m slightly shocked that we got 8 sane replies to my comment that were all more grounded in logic than the original article’s premise.  Gives me hope for humanity.
