Interesting that your mind went there. That first picture immediately had me thinking of sagging

Dallas always amazes me when I land there, even a normal flight seems to drive around for 1/2 an hour on the ground to get from runway to the gate.

Yup they happen - just to be clear, my point was that they are less frequent than takeoff waits so the pilot is going to give you an explanation when they happen. I was making the point that just saying nothing -

a 3 hr takeoff hold happens, but on landing? Have you ever seen a hold on landing (plane not rolling) of more than 5 minutes without some explanation from the pilot?

Agree with everything you wrote, similar conclusion to a comment I made.

The article could have a much, much clearer.

RE: McDonald’s logo placement lower on the hood - looks intentional so that the M is visible in front shots of the car.  The 43 car in 2020 had it further up on the hood and the tops of the M disappear in front shots.

Agreed, I don’t know why they needed to do that. The sidewalls on a racing tire are much wider. I doubt the wheel wells would ever wrap that much around under the tire as well.  And the lack of suspension travel is just plain embarassing.

The average reader probably understood ‘make’ to be a revenue number, not a net profit. (It would be depressing to describe what I ‘make’ at my job on an after tax basis...).

Those living in Texas decided to join the Union of the United States

You’re making a straw man argument with your “whataboutism”

Going to agree with Stevie, colloquialism or not, Putin gave an hour long speech laying out all his reasons , at least some of which would meet your definition of “reason” (e.g. attacks at the borders, US interference). While they are manufactured reasons , they’re more real than the justification for invading Iraq...

So yes, for stuff that really requires infrastructure and ongoing variable cost, I’m not against this model.

And for the record, my single longest wait for a train was 8 hours. That does not count the five or six times they have just cancelled all the trains and I’ve had to spend an extra night in the city, nor the 10-15 times I’ve either taken a bus, or done the NJT->Septa local rail hack (~3.5 hrs vs. 1.5 hrs on the train,

That new train station is also a fail from the perspective of finding a spot to stand where you can actually keep an eye on the train status board.  Much of the standing space shown in the picture above has no view of the status boards.

True, but everywhere else in the world the trains run reliably on time. Amtrak is such a train wreck (pun intended) that you never know if the train will be on time or if you will have a 3 hour+ wait.

My 2015 WRX STI is EPA rated at 19 mpg, I’m generally in the 17-18 in real life.  Gearing is so short on that car you don’t really get it back in highway cruising, the engine is pushing close to 4K rpm in 6th gear.

I was really hoping for a picture of the rod discharging.  Article is lacking.

“Keep f**ing with the seat and your warranty is void in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ....”

Agreed, in my cars whomever was first to unlock drives the automatic memory setting. If the car is not locked, then it’s not going to auto adjust the seats.
