I’m in PA , so yes, I’m paying 58 cents of state tax and 18.4 cents for federal tax on that $2.35 a gallon price. In Germany they pay $5.85 a gallon. Corollary 1 - same story for a cruise ship.  In the video, you can see the motors are pretty close to the back , just where the hull starts to narrow for the props.  But they had to do a sidecut because cruise ship superstructures run the entire length of the ship.  

I wonder if there is a missing piece to this story, specific to how this is an icebreaker....
