There are so many delightfully wrong Japanese movies that it's kind of hard to know where to start. There are movies that make 'Tokyo Gore Police' and 'Robogeisha' look mainstream by comparison.

What they should have copied: An abstract look at the nature of dreams, our perception of reality, and how a single memory can alter who we are as a person.

Avatar succeeds far more as a protect mother earth story than it does as a post-Colonial satire where it is pedestrian and elementary at best. Heart of Darkness it is not.
