The Innsmouth Look by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets
I agree Casca had a crappy fate. But Guts' whole life up to that point was messed up. He was born underneath his lynched mother. Raped as a kid. Neglected and abused. etc. etc.
I've read the first book. And it wasn't special in my opinion, and something about the character and/or setting turned me off slightly. I didn't necessarily want to read the rest in the series.
BUT, this trailer makes the movie look like it's BETTER than the book. It seems the tension has been raised, and the visuals…
For some reason, reminded me of this:
Actually, when you put it into the context of "epic" friendship, then I agree with you. It isn't epic at all. It's a relationship of convenience. But all's I'm saying is early on, Walt shows some signs of caring for Jessie in a mentor/paternal sort of way.
But epic, their relationship is not. Though, the show is…
Walt's character has changed over the course of the show. It has definitely been overtly implied that Walt felt a paternal relation to Jessie in the early seasons. It's only in the final seasons that Walt has become power hungry or unhinged. And, of course, like you said, using Jessie, lying to him, and…
I apologize; I was sort of being sardonic, and it's a bit comment on how this is a fantasy. My first thought was to use a screen shot from The Last Temptation of Christ of Judas and Jesus, because they were good friends.
I know what you mean. It's been over 20 years! Although it's one of my favorite manga/anime stories of all time, I do very much want to see the final conflict resolved!
Right, right. But I just felt that she is part of Guts' motivation for revenge after the end of the Golden Age arc. And she's part of Guts' growth as a person, and she is behind the motivation for a lot of what Guts does.
Chobits was the first thing that came to my mind too.
The ending to that movie was one of the reasons why I like the movie so much.
I actually didn't have a problem with the ending of Battlestar Galactica. And I thought season 4 was on of the best seasons of the whole show.
So, anyway. to those that are saying they just started the series, don't be too disheartened. It's worth the ride, even though the ending is controversial.
Would League of Extraordinary Gentleman count?
I mean right from the get go, they screwed it up by shortening the title to LXG.
WTF?!
One of the worst adaptations ever.
Wait a minute, WHO likes Zero Hour? Did it get better after the first few episodes or something? It was horrific!
The cops came and arrested the Evil Necromancer that was controlling the skellingtons.
