I don’t buy it. First, I think the Fiata is in fact uglier, I think the “Italian” tuning and whatever else the “Italians” have claimed to do (can we really just stop assigning nationalities to billion dollar international companies) is more mental than anything physically different with the car. I think all the

Credit to modern race car safety. I swore Li was a dead man.

By modern car manufacturing standards this is essentially being built by hand. I wonder what their yearly production is.

I don’t understand how you can make any of these conclusions from the charts you have shown. The charts show that apple has had a consistent exponential increase in R&D spending. That is it.

He is right that you really need to get the full res versions and blow them up to fully appreciate. That way you can see the purple date lines to show advancement over time.

So true and they don’t even have a production spec yet. So their suppliers are going to be ready to quadruple their output for parts that haven’t even been finally spec’d out yet.... in a year and a half.

The manufacturing aspect of what Tesla is trying to do is the most forgotten and arguably most difficult part. I have no doubt that the Freemont plant is physically capable size wise of producing 500k vehicles per year (was formerly a significant GM/Toyota plant), but ramping a facility up to those numbers is a

The odyssey engine note was better than I expected.

Ugh here come the bigger is better truck buyers.

Don’t they say when you buy your ticket some disclosure about it being an active racetrack and you are responsible for your own safety blah blah blah?

I am one of the rare souls who didn’t mind the no grill face of the model 3 but dear god is that ugly. Maybe its the angle of the photo, maybe its the color, maybe its maybelline. I don’t know but its not good.

I don’t see what the rush is to move it up market. If the model 3 goes like the model X there won’t be anything to compete against for another 4 years.

I guess I travel more than I thought I did. I put on 15K a year without breaking a sweat. Obviously this is with 1 car not 2 or 3.

I am no expert but my problem with leases has always been the mileage. These 10,000 mile leases are very cheap but I don’t know how you can put so few miles on a car each year. I don’t know if the used car aspect would change that problem.

I don’t see the big deal. Aren’t the gauges on Mini Coopers in the middle. This isn’t some canyon carving performance race car for the street. Its an electric small luxury car starting at $35k. Embrace it.

As an industrial engineer I don’t think people realize the magnitude of what Tesla is doing with this car from a manufacturing standpoint. Taking a plant from producing ~70,000 cars annually to ~500,000 is a tremendous ask. For most plants a 15% change in production volume is a dramatic change. You are essentially

Neat!

Screw it, I’m in

I am an American and I know we aren’t supposed to like Russian stuff but I freaking love the Su-34 Fullback. It is such a cool jet.
